Become a **maker of possible** with us. **Job Summary:** The Senior Instrumentation Technician will report directly to the Instrumentation Manager for Operations. This position is responsible for providing on-site customer and operations support to internal BDB San Diego customers. This includes, but is not limited to installation, qualification/ validation, calibration, maintenance, and repair service of diagnostic and general laboratory equipment and instruments. This position may at times require after-hours, holiday and weekend support depending on business needs. **Job Responsibilities:** _(Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities)_ + Perform Calibration, Preventative Maintenance and Repair on Flow Cytometers + Install and service instrumentation with minimum direct supervision, as requested, by the Service Center in accordance with current ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards. + Ensure service was complete and satisfactory to the customers' needs. + Properly maintain stock inventory, test equipment, tools, and technical data. + Complete service documentation, as required, by the position function or requested by System Support Engineering Manager in accordance with current GMP requirements. + Display maturity and judgment in time management and expense control. + Report quality control and other technical problems, in detail, to the Service Center and System Support Engineering Manager. + Interface effectively with other departments and managers to resolve customer problems and issues. 　 + Ensures proper handling, record storage, and other document as per the BD Record Retention Policy. + Plays an active role in maintaining the company's internal and external reputation and strengthening of BD’s social responsibility. + Handles comprehensive organization tasks, which encompass drafting the communication related to activities and collaborating with vendors, subcontractors, and or other personnel as necessary. **Education and Experience:** + Associates or bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or other related technical or biological field or military technical training required + A minimum of 5 years’ experience fixing Flow Cytometer instruments or components + Requires a current, valid, unrestricted California Driver's License and clean driving record + Must be able to lift minimum 50lbs + Prior Field Service Engineer experience, preferred **Knowledge and Skills:** + Proficient interacting with individuals at all levels. + Requires demonstrated experience maintaining confidentiality, handling sensitive information with tact and diplomacy. + Excellent written and verbal communication skill, including strong grammar, spelling, punctuation, composition and proofreading abilities. + Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required. + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. + Meticulous organizational and time management skills, with great attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task effectively. + Successfully manages shifting priorities and balances requests from multiple individuals. + A self-starter who learns quickly and works efficiently. **Physical Demands:** _(if applicable)_ + Walking: Moves about on foot often in confined spaces and over grating. + Carrying: Transports objects by holding them in hands or arms. + Hands/Arms: Operates electrical and computerized instrumentation; operates hand and power tools. + Handling: Seizes hauls or works with hands. + Lifting: Raises and lowers pumps, motors, and related items. + Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction. + Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at the knees or waist. + Height; in and out of confined spaces. + Operates company equipment and vehicles. + Sitting: Meetings, work benches and others. **Work Environment:** _(if applicable)_ + Noise: Occasionally works in noisy conditions. + Personnel Protective Equipment required, safety glasses, gloves, safety shoes At BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
