The Control, Automation & Electrical Group is a Hatch global practice providing engineering design expertise to Hatch's metals and minerals, infrastructure and energy business units. Our capability spans through the whole project lifecycle comprising; scoping, conceptual design, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, basic and detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, sustaining capital works and project management.

Our team in Brisbane is currently seeking expressions of interest from Experienced Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Engineers to assist with a recent sustained growth in workload, both nationally and internationally.
Candidates with experience in instrumentation, control systems, electrical systems (ranging from lighting & small power, motor control, vendor package integration through to power generation) and HV distribution systems should not hesitate to apply.
You will be involved in preparing discipline design, studies, calculations and documentation, and given the opportunity to manage discipline specific projects of various sizes from small upgrades to major capital works.
Determining project scope and definition and preparing proposals for submission to clients, you will also be required to prepare EPCM, capital estimates and project schedules. Other duties will include: providing key discipline input to multi-discipline project teams, participating in formal engineering review processes, and provision of on-site construction and commissioning technical support.
We are ideally looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications and skills:
A degree in engineering, with demonstrated experience and ability to apply for CPEng status Excellent attitude towards safety and a demonstrated ability to comply with the safety requirements Demonstrated design and engineering experience in one or more of the following sectors: utilities (e.g. power and water), renewable energy, metals and minerals, infrastructure and heavy industry Demonstrated capability in the investigation, planning and supervision of construction works and/or maintenance activities in operational facilities Have current knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and study criteria pertinent to electrical engineering ensuring compliance of design work with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients on a technical and interpersonal level
They should also have significant depth of experience in one or more of the following areas:
Design and specification of power systems, switchboards, motor control, electrical installations (incl. lighting) and associated cabling. Renewable energy installations and power system integration Design and specification of instrumentation and control systems Advanced Process Control and/or Functional Safety Industrial communications infrastructure design
Language skills in addition to English (esp. French, Mandarin, Spanish) would be well regarded.
