**Description**
SAIC is seeking a Senior Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to support a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) program. This position is remote and the applicant can reside anywhere within the U.S. but must be able to travel to SAIC facilities (Reston, VA and Washington D.C.) and FAA customer facilities (Washington, D.C. and Atlantic City, NJ) on an as-needed basis.
The Senior Instructional Systems Designer is responsible for designing, maintaining, and developing on ground and web based instructional materials used for course delivery. This position involves analyzing training needs, development and course maintenance, and quality check of course materials. Must have experience working with computer support, video technology, distance learning, and other state of the art technologies in course and media design.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Analyze learner needs and requirements
+ Create instructional materials like training manuals, student guides, and online courses
+ Incorporate technology into instruction
+ Evaluate training and revise materials
+ Work with project managers to meet deadlines
+ Creates learning experiences and environments.
+ Designs learning activities, assignments, and assessments.
+ Creates computer-based training (CBT) modules and storyboards.
+ Develops instructor’s manuals, rubrics, and other teaching tools.
+ Collaborates with subject experts to develop course content.
+ Manages online learning communities.
+ Analyzes, updates, and refines existing online content.
+ Trains instructors, students, and employees in how to use learning technologies.
+ Facilitates discussion and collaboration via social media.
+ Keeps current on best practices in instructional design.
+ Writes scripts for video and audio content.
+ Works with technical staff to troubleshoot problems reported by users.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications and Skills:**
+ Bachelor’s degree and 10 years or more of related experience or Master’s degree and 8 years or more of related experience.
+ Knowledge of instructional theory, including assessment.
+ Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS).
+ Understanding of web site design best practices.
+ Excellent project management and organizational skills.
+ Experience with design platforms, such as InDesign.
+ Familiarity with course management systems, such as Blackboard.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical colleagues and clients.
+ Critical thinking skills., and ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines.
+ Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and video technology is required.
+ The ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
**Desired Qualifications and Skills:**
+ eLearning course development using Articulate Storyline
+ Experience working with Agile development teams using Jira and Confluence.
+ Experience managing applications on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
+ History of working with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or Department of Transportation (DOT) and their processes / data.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
