Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of sales and use tax experience in a multi-state operations environment.Proficient in MS Office.Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Howmet Aerospace is looking for a Senior Indirect Tax Analyst to join our Global Finance team at our headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA. This position will reside within the Corporate Tax organization reporting to the Senior Manager Indirect Tax and is primarily responsible for supporting the Manager on all sales & use and property tax matters for the company including performing tax research on state and local tax matters, tax planning, implementation, due diligence, overseeing outsourced compliance, addressing tax controversies with taxing jurisdictions, tax account reconciliations, and maintenance of external tax engine.
Major Activities and Key Challenges:
Analyze financial data from Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Revenue Accounting and Corporate Accounting.Oversee and review sales and use tax returns prepared by outsourced provider.Perform tax-relevant account reconciliations.Research to resolve state and local tax issues and perform special projects, as required, including assisting in indirect tax audits.Serve as primary contact for taxability questions from Howmet US operations.Maintain and optimize the tax engine configurations and assist with new implementation.Coordinate and identify optimal filing options, exemptions, and credits and incentives.Manage data and relationship with outsource return vendor for personal property tax returns and real estate valuations.Prepare real estate and personal property tax payments for US entities.Collaborate and lead personal property tax audits.Ensure compliance gross receipts, excise tax, business licenses, and other miscellaneous tax obligations in state and local jurisdictions.Perform other indirect tax duties and special projects as assigned by management.Essential Skills and Knowledge:
