Senior Implementation Consulting Specialist
About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 10 S&P Global Market Intelligence The Role: Senior Implementation Consulting Specialist The Team: The Implementation Consultant role is part of a team based in Tokyo, Japan, working with clients globally on implementation activities and providing application support for engagements onsite; At times team members are required to travel (within the region or internationally) to client offices to assist with the implementation activities. The team is coached and led by a senior Managing Consultants and Lead Consultants, and are trained in using SQL Server, the Markit EDM application, and in the informational needs of modern financial institutions. Responsibilities: Configuring EDM application using SQL Server to meet the client specifications at a client’s site. Providing consultancy to clients for business improvements. Discusses proposed solutions for complex systems with customer. Providing application support for client, where necessary, including incident management, investigation, resolution, system monitoring, and coordination within internal and external stakeholders and teams. Documenting weekly, quarterly, and financial budget status, including presentation to client. Testing the project deliverables ensuring they are in line with documented requirements and documenting unit tests outcomes. Proactively monitor, review for improvements, and document existing procedures. Making recommendations for implementation of new features, and performance improvements where appropriate. Collaborate and work closely with Presales and Sales in prospect engagements, Request for Information/Proposal (RFI/RFP), Proof of Concept (POC) workshops, and identify new opportunities. Support the release management process and job automation procedures What We’re Looking For: Business Competencies: Education and experience BS in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Finance with more than 5 years of development experience Solid understanding of financial markets products, a broad understanding of the investment bank process, middle-office systems and operations, and associated data management needs Must have more than 2 years of Markit EDM implementation / Support experience Proven track record of software implementation experience, ideally gained across buy-side and sell-side environments. Must have the understanding of Markit EDM Components (Data Inspector, Data Constructor, Rule Builder, Core Matcher & Web UI Workflows) Strong proficiency with SQL statements, designing tables, stored procedures, views and functions. Preference in SQL Server. Good Data Model knowledge and experience of working within financial database implementations. Adept in problem analysis, problem solving and problem management Certification in EDM Core & User Interface and Advanced courses would be advantageous. Commercial awareness An interest in the data management space and technology associated with it Management requirements Ability to prioritize activities by managing a constantly evolving plan measured against client requirements. Ability to coordinate between different teams and stakeholders to ensure accurate updates to stakeholders Personal Competencies: Personal impact Self-starter with an attention to detail Ambitious and looking to build on their career in a fast-moving environment A natural, consultative style is essential to build client relationships and meet the evolving demands of a wide and diverse client base. An ability to understand clients’ business requirements through an on-going consultative engagement and map these into a set of objectives for the implementation of EDM solution Communication Good presentations skills (preparation and delivery) Excellent oral and written communication skills Fluent in written and spoken Japanese and English languages. Teamwork Must be a strong team player, able to interact with business, product, operations and technical teams in a professional manner.
