Senior Human Resources Manager

We are seeking a Senior Human Resources Manager/Senior HR Business Partner to sit in the Troy, OH location with demonstrated experience aligning HR practices with strategic business objectives. This role will play an integral part in enabling a positive employee experience by owning and continuously improving both the operational and strategic people practices related to the full employee life cycle. Areas included in this are: onboarding, performance and talent management, compensation, and employee relations. Additionally, this role will also serve as a business partner to Hobart’s People Leaders as well as the compliance leader for various client groups, ensuring that people practices are compliant with state and federal requirements.

Core Responsibilities

Develop and implement operational and strategic HR practices to enable a best in class employee experiencePartner with teams to ensure the effective and timely execution of all HR processes and programs; including but not limited to: talent reviews, performance management and counseling, compensation planning, employee relations, etc.Assist with design, coordination, and implementation of employee and/or manager training; could include: orientation and onboarding, ongoing leadership training, etc.Consult with business leadership on organizational design to enable the business to grow and operate effectively including evaluation work structure job design and role / responsibility clarityLead US Service compliance; proactively maintain knowledge base of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions; project lead changes/updates to ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are compliantReview existing policies and procedures; initiate changes to ensure compliance with law, corporate policies, and business objectivesPerforms other duties and complete special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experiences

Bachelor’s degreeA minimum of 10 years of experience in Human Resources Demonstrated experience supporting leadership with complex problemsStrong written/verbal and nonverbal communication skills; demonstrates effective listening skillsAbility to work with all levels within the organizationDemonstrated project management skills; able to communicate status updates with colleagues, keep team members informed, and respond clearly to inquiriesStrong interpersonal skills, role model for ITW values and Leadership Expectations and Hobart Service Mission and VisionIndependent and organized work style:  Effectively manage time and prioritize work load, assume and manage multiple tasks without close supervision and consistently meet deadlinesAbility to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential business and employee informationPossesses a strong drive for results and translates strategic direction into concrete action stepsStrong analytic skills, ability to research data and present findings in an organized fashion, and ability to make recommendations on course of actionStrong technical skills / aptitude: Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, and Excel). Ability to adapt to all situations; handle change and conflict, remain calm and composedUp to 40% domestic travel
