The Hardware Engineering position is responsible for designing electronics, from requirements to production release embedded in Whirlpool Appliances. You will execute engineering tasks as part of cross-functional teams for new product development programs responsible for concepts, requirements, design, analysis, and testing. The specifics of this role are focused on the design, analysis, and testing of electronic controls over a wide range of operational environments, markets, and feature sets.

Your responsibilities will includeDesign hardware modules and select components.
Design hardware solutions to drive system optimization, improve module/component design and enhance product reliability.
Interact with system architects/integrators to review and consolidate application requirements.
Select and integrate hardware modules to build embedded hardware applications.
Perform simulation of electronic/electrical circuits model.
Design PCB (Printed Circuit Boards) layout and perform/participate in layout reviews.
Prototype assembly, bring up, debugging, and functional verification
Working with and managing suppliers/manufacturing partners.
Minimum requirementsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering
Fluent in the English language. (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension).
Experience in any of the following: designing electronics hardware modules, select components, electronics simulation, PCB layout design, and prototype assembly/testing.
Preferred skills and experiencesKnowledge of the Allegro Cadence package (Schematics, PCB, etc.).
Able to work with both Global and regional Groups, influencing positively the organization in all directions(both Vertical and Horizontal).
Effective communication and negotiating skills.
Knowledge of 6 Sigma methodology.
Knowledge of EMC&EMI theory.
Experience designing high-volume products and dealing with contract manufacturers.
Mixed-signal and embedded board-level design experience incl. Up to 32-bit microcontrollers.
Hands-on experience building prototype electronics: assembly, board bring-up debugging, functional verification, modification of mechanical housings
Knowledge of semiconductor theory and manufacturing, digital design, analog design, power supplies, transmission lines, semiconductor technology, and other fundamental knowledge of electronics are all preferred for this role.

Knowledge and experience in using PSPICE for simulations.
