Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Senior Grant Accountant in the non-profit sector, based in New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of a significant portfolio of grants and contracts and will play a crucial role in maintaining financial compliance with various funding requirements. Responsibilities: • Ensure the timely and precise submission of financial reports and invoices for all grants. • Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date database of administrative contracts. • Respond to all funder-related inquiries from key stakeholders. • Assist in the preparation of special financial reports and projections as needed. • Ensure financial compliance with government and private foundation funding requirements. • Prepare necessary journal entries and allocations. • Assist in the preparation of funder desk audits. • Maintain accurate financial records and files. • Contribute to special projects as assigned. • Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. • Maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a non-profit setting • Proficiency in Abila MIP is a must • Experience with various accounting software systems • Knowledge of ADP - Financial Services is required • Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal would be an advantage • Ability to perform all accounting functions with high accuracy • Solid background in auditing, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all transactions • Experience in budget processes, including planning, tracking, and adjusting as necessary • Expertise in capital management, including allocation and monitoring of resources • Capable of overseeing all cash activity, including transactions, reconciliations, and reporting.
