This Senior Front-end Engineering Manager will lead all UI development for Apple’s Data Platform (multiple teams & managers). We are looking for an Engineering leader with a passion for User Experience and Front-end Engineering. Apple’s new Data Platform powers Apple Intelligence and is at the beginning of democratizing Generative AI worldwide. This team delivers Analytics & ML Engineering at scale for Siri and Search as well as any product, feature, or service using or planning to use AI/ML across Apple. The mission of the Data Platform Experience Team is simple: provide data consumers (ML Engineers, Data Scientists, Product/Feature teams, etc.) with intuitive, easy-to-use, secure, and reliable features & infrastructure. **Description**
You will be responsible for driving the overall User Experience for the entire Apple Data Platform. You will engage partners and lead teams of Front-end Engineers that design and implement User Interfaces and data services securely and at scale to users across all of Apple, globally. We embrace the latest, modern, open-source development technologies. You will lead teams of high-profile Front-end Engineers and Managers, accelerating the adoption of Apple’s Data Platform features at scale! Responsibilities include: Lead teams of exceptional UI Engineers and UX Designers to build beautiful, clean, and performant UI for Apple’s internal customers and teams at scale globally Combine UI/UX design methodologies with your Front-end Engineering experience, using modern JavaScript and CSS Technologies and frameworks. Manage, lead, mentor, and grow an organization of Front-end Engineers, developing the careers of managers and ICs Define technical vision and strategy for large-scale Front-end Data Platform Experience. Design and drive a technical roadmap with focused execution Collaborate with leaders and partners in design, engineering, product, and operations across Apple, understanding and advising on requirements Inspire teams to innovate, invent, and implement scalable solutions for complex Front-end problems Provide guidance and establish processes to ensure engineering excellence and operational sustainability Foster a healthy, inclusive, collaborative, and innovative culture and a high-output team
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ 8+ years’ experience managing Engineering teams.
+ 3+ years' experience managing Managers
+ 8+ years’ experience in UX/UI Engineering
+ Experience and/or strong understanding with/of one or more of the following- JavaScript & CSS technologies (i.e., React, Next.js, Vue.js, Svelte, Angular, Typescript, Tailwind, Bootstrap, Bulma, Foundation, Materialize, Styled Components, etc.)
+ Proficient in large-scale Web Development, modern UI frameworks, UX Design methodology, and User-testing
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to collaborate with other teams across Apple.
+ Experience in influencing and driving key product innovations and opportunities across a diverse set of global partners
+ Passionate about operational excellence through proper automation and engineering processes
+ Being methodical, ensuring web infrastructure is built in an optimized and sustainable manner
+ Strong front-end systems and engineering background
+ Superb problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
+ BS, MS, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

+ At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $252,400 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
