Compliance to operating relevant procedure Work instructions, MHSA compliance, and GTS-group technical standards. Coordinate special projects and shutdowns Manage PM compliance and prioritize duties towards maintenance of equipment and services. Budget setting and control. Contactor management.

Job Description

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Support the achievement of the Operation plan

Assist the Operation management team in developing an operational plan for the year to support the process in achieving throughput objectivesUndertake to plan, up to 1 year ahead and assists with 5 year planning, the budget requirements according to the planned maintenance schedules verses operational targets and budgetsUndertake to plan the spares requirements according to the planned maintenance schedule and ensure their availabilityLiaise with the Operation management team regarding daily, weekly and monthly progress to plan, budget and employee resourcesOversee that all work practices are executed in compliance with legal requirementsRegularly communicate progress of section against operational targets and objectives via a design communication and supervisory forum to subordinatesEvaluate, monitor and provide continuous feedback to the section regarding the performance efficiencies, standards of the section labour, equipment, budget and process targets.Oversee the quality of workmanship and conduct regular inspections around the section and the Operation

Plan daily, weekly and monthly work requirement and priorities with operational teamAllocate labour resources and equipment to scheduled and priority activities so as to maintain and ensure high levels of labour, equipment and operational performance standardsLiaise with the other Supervisors to ensure that any problems that could overlap with other sections are pro-actively identified and discussedOversee the development of a healthy spirit of co-operation within the sectionIdentify operational priorities within the section that would ensure the optimization of the section’s performanceMonitor the process to identify any possible problems or risk areas to the section and schedule remedy actionsEnsure availability for after-hours standby dutiesAllocate multi-task team members to Artisans when required to perform and ensure effective maintenanceAccompany the Engineer regular inspections and audits around the sectionReview operational plans and re-assign targets and objectives to subordinatesProvided regular support to both the process operational and technical employees within the section as well as to other sections on boiler making mattersTakes charge during crises and major overhaulsConduct regular inspections on all works to ensure safety and maintenance of technical standardsAssist / guide the Maintenance Clerk to supply reliable maintenance information

Administration of necessary

Compile accurate reportsEnsure that required job instructions are available to employeesImplement and maintain applicable Safety, Regulations, The Act, Codes of practices, procedures and standardsComplete safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reportsConduct required meetings including safetyEstablish procedures for abnormal work requirements which fall outside of standard proceduresEnsure that accurate labour records including overtime worked are maintainedEnsure that all the data captured on the operational and technical management information and control systems are accurate and timeousPrepare adhoc reports for management or other information customersAssist and participate in Risk Management ProgrammersCompletion of audit administrationEnsure that engineering administration requirements are complied withRegularly review operational and technical data

This role is at a Band 7 level reporting to the Section Engineer

QualificationsEngineering Foreman Certificate as per Anglo AmericanBoiler making or Fitting Trade CertificateCertified Competent 2.9.2

Experience

Two years plus experience required as Foreman

Knowledge and Skills

Computer literate in full MS OfficeGood analytical and decisions making skillsValid driving license code 08
