Job Summary
The Senior Financial Planning Analyst serves as the key financial support person to a subset of enterprise functional areas. The position will report to the Sr Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis and provides business partner support and analysis. This role assists with the annual expense planning and bi-annual expense forecasting activities for all corporate shared service functional administrative costs, conducts monthly expense reviews with leadership, and acts as the Finance partner for all financial matters.Key Responsibilities/Duties – what you will be doing
Budget Management
Execute the F1, F2 and annual forecasting processes and continue to assess for areas for enhancementProduce standardized reporting processes across all administrative areas (departmental and executive)Manage monthly budgets in order to conduct monthly expense reviews with leadershipAssist in developing materials for monthly meetings with Vice Presidents and Directors throughout the organizationBuild out monthly budgets to include cost drivers to drive a more accurate allocation that reflects business realityIdentify and track monthly expense accrual and coordinate with AP and the accounting teamAssist with verification of Affordability of Care (AOC) initiativesEnhance capital requesting, approving, and reporting processesDocument financial processesFinancial Analysis
Assist with ad hoc financial analysis projects as assignedTypes of projects may include (membership shifts, system consolidation, impacts of automation, etc.)Support Manager of Corporate Finance through Regulatory reporting and benchmarking exercisesService Excellence

Qualifications – what you need to perform the job
Education, Certification and Licensure
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or BusinessAdvanced degree preferred (MBA or Masters) preferredProfessional license (e.g., CPA, CIA, etc.) preferredExperience (minimum years required):
3-5 years’ related business experience with finance, operations and process understanding requiredHealthcare Industry experience a plusSkill Requirements
Proficient in budget management and techniquesProficient in using financial systems (e.g., IBM Cognos) and modelling toolsAdvanced Excel skillsAbility to manage to deadlines and shifting prioritiesProject management and organizational skillsAbility to implement new processes (comfortable working in white space)Analytical Skills: ability to synthesize and organize information for meaningful use and actionProven oral and written communication skillsStrong relationship building and leadership skills to influence work and collaboratively across all levels of employees, management and cross-functionallyUnderstanding of technology/ operations related to Tufts Health Plan systemsStrategic thinking skills; ability to draw meaningful insights and identify business implicationsDetail orientedCompensation & Total Rewards Overview
