Reporting into the Financial Reporting team, the key focus for Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting is to prepare and deliver quality financial reporting. The Senior Financial Analyst would be experienced with IFRS in order to make the appropriate assessment of financial reporting matters.

 

Key Responsibilities

Analyze specific account variances, communicate the impacts and follow-through with  appropriate actionsAnalyze, draft and document accounting entries and schedules for investments in joint ventures and associatesAnalyze, organize, document and account for business acquisition and divestiture transactionsSupport in monthly internal reporting of consolidated resultsPerform detailed drafting of financial statements, MD&A and press release on Workiva WdeskPrepare quarterly supporting for specific financial statements notes disclosures and financial information in the MD&A and press releaseEnsure the consistency of disclosures within and between all financial reporting documentsAssist in coordination efforts of external audit with various departmentsContribute to continuous improvements of financial reportingPropose updates to the company’s accounting and financial reporting policies as neededPerform IFRS research, evaluating appropriate accounting treatments to draft accounting position memosOther ad-hoc special projects as required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

Designated CPA is required3+ years of related experience, including public accounting experienceStrong IFRS knowledge in analyzing complex accounting and financial reporting mattersSelf-starter with drive to take action to problem-solveAwareness of relationship and impacts of disclosures across financial statements, management discussion and analysis and press releaseMust be able to produce workings meeting SOX control environment expectationsAbility to work independently and collaboratively across departments to resolve issuesHave attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environmentFlexibility to work additional hours as dictated by reporting schedulesExperience in Workiva Wdesk and Workday would be an asset
