The Global Rewards Finance team is responsible for the reporting, forecasting, and analytics for one of the largest P&L lines at American Express. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain a deep understanding of Amex’s rewards offerings to Card Members. This analyst role is on the US Rewards Finance team and will be responsible for results, planning, and analysis of US Membership Rewards redemptions, a key driver of the Membership Rewards liability. In addition, this analyst will provide strategic and financial analysis to help drive decisions for new initiatives, product enhancements, and contract negotiations.
The ideal candidate will bring a unique balance of strong analytical skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and convey robust critical thinking skills. He or she must be able to build solid, trust-based relationships with business partners and empower them to deliver outstanding reward programs to our Card Members while simultaneously driving optimal levels of profitability for shareholders.
Responsibilities:
Own the US Membership Rewards redemption model by providing results, forecasting, and business support on redemptions by understanding partner trends, and how trends impact CPP (cost per point) and WAC (weighted average cost per point) Lead the Membership Rewards monthly redemption result reviews by providing coherent stories, strategic insights, and a clear view on performance to senior finance and business leaders Deliver financial analysis to support business partners in decision making (e.g., new initiatives, product enhancements, partner negotiation support, and scenario analyses) Provide thought leadership into key findings and actionable recommendations to influence business strategy Develop rewards forecasts to support the enterprise-wide annual Plan and Long-Range Plan processes Identify risks and opportunities for up-to-date views on quarterly and full-year performance Evaluate current processes and recommend improvements / efficiencies Support ad hoc projects and analytics
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance or related majors 2+ years experience in the field Highly motivated with an ability to drive results and have a strong desire to learn Effective relationship building skills with the ability to work across Marketing, Finance, and Controllership Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently without sacrificing quality Must be able to synthesize complex concepts, involving large quantities of data, into understandable business insights Strong team player with an ability to deliver within a matrix organization High level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is requiredPreferred Qualifications:
TM1, SQL, Lumi platform and SAS knowledge is a plusEmployment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position.
Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
