Owens & Minor is seeking a Financial Analyst/Senior Financial Analyst supporting medical economics / payor analytics in Patient Direct’s FP&A department to join its growing Patient Direct segment. Patient Direct is a $2.7B and growing, industry-leading, nationwide organization, specializing in home healthcare products and services. The ideal candidate should have outstanding analytical and interpersonal skills and be able to listen actively, communicate professionally, and participate in several projects in parallel. We are seeking a self-organized and logical thinker with a keen attention to detail, looking to progress their career.  This role allows for consistent exposure to senior leadership and will work with multiple business leaders across the Patient Direct business.

$82,390.00 - $153,010.00 USD Annual

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for analyses and profitability determination of contracts, business and billing rules; includes fee-for-service to full risk contracting arrangements

Perform utilization analyses for accounts, payor types and products

Participate in meetings to discuss payor pricing strategy in support of contract negotiations

Accurate and timely financial analysis including proforma P/Ls by payor & product category that support bid rate quotations and contract negotiations for multi-million-dollar business opportunities

Responsible for familiarity with a variety of Patient Direct’s business concepts, practices, and procedures and their impact on profitability

Generate reports as requested using departmental databases

Provides ideas for optimization

Prepares regular and ad hoc reports to provide transparency to the internal stakeholders

Education and/or Experience

BS/BA in Finance, Economics or Accounting required

Experience with Business Intelligence Software (Hyperion, Cognos, Power BI, TM1, etc.) preferred

5+ years overall experience with business, finance, or analytics-focused environment

Healthcare background a plus

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Understanding of Financial concepts including Income Statement structure, P&L terminology, and basic financial calculations.  Strong mathematical capabilities. 

Superior problem-solving skills

Ability to adapt to changes in priorities, circumstances, and direction

Ability to tear apart a complex problem, understand what is going on, put it all back together and ultimately communicate succinctly with senior leadership

Ability to communicate and work cross-functionally with all areas of Finance

An eye for continual process improvement

Ability to see the big picture and see things from a strategic perspective

Ability to present information, analysis and financial data in a clear, concise manner to non-financial managers and senior leadership

Demonstrated history of identifying and resolving a wide range of issues in imaginative and practical ways, as well as exercising good judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions

Demonstrated strength working cross functionally to drive issue resolution, results driven, problem solver, self-starter

Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to work proactively, independently and in a team environment

Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines

Computer Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced proficiency with MS Excel and preferably MS PowerPoint

Data visualization tools like Domo, Tableau, Power BI a plus

Language Skills

English (reading, writing, verbal)

Mathematical Skills

College level mathematical proficiency, with a strong ability to understand, interpret and develop spreadsheet data

Preferred Qualifications 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

Designation such as MBA, CPA or CMA a plus

Physical Demands
