Senior Financial Analyst, Field Finance

**Job Description:**
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Field Finance – Senior Analyst is a key position providing financial support to Book Fairs’ regional management team. This role requires a close working relationship with field management to communicate financial results. Core responsibilities include preparing financial statements, analyzing variances to plan and identifying financial trends and opportunities that drive financial performance in the regions. Additionally, this position will help facilitate the month-end general ledger close process and preparing supplemental, division-level financial analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Responsible for accurate and timely delivery of the field financial statement and schedules by establishing and following efficient processes.
+ Develop and maintain working relationships with Regional Vice Presidents, Sales Managers, Operations Area Leaders, and Branch Managers.
+ Review and analyze monthly Region and Branch level income statements, identify and research causes of variance, and communicate results to Region leaders.
+ Partner with field stakeholders to create key performance metrics.
+ Provide comprehensive analysis on labor metrics, distribution analysis, warehouse projects, etc.
+ Demonstrate an understanding/working knowledge of general accepted accounting principles.
+ Perform month end close activities and prepare timely account reconciliations.
+ Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts.
+ Comfortable explaining P&L to Key Stakeholders and digging into the details to explain financial results.
+ Create and/or maintain forward-looking models and comfortable making recommendations to Key Stakeholders.
+ Assists in Ad-Hoc Projects.
+ Prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

**Qualifications**
HOW YOU CAN FIT **(Qualifications)**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA preferred.
+ A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Financial Analyst, Business Analyst, or a similar function in a corporate environment is required.
+ Experience preparing journal entries and working in an enterprise general ledger application required.
+ Ability to perform various Month End Close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations. .
+ Ability to perform detailed analysis with large data sets.
+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.) and a working knowledge of relational databases and simple database queries.
+ Need to possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with field management leaders.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills.
+ Self-motivated, organized and flexible to handle multiple tasks with little supervision and meet all deadlines.
+ Oracle PBCS, Business Intelligence, and Smart View skills are a plus.
+ Some travel will be required
