Job Title: Senior Financial Accountant

Location: Milton Keynes – Hybrid working. 2 days per week in the office.

We are hiring a Senior Financial Accountant to join us where you will be part of the Financial Accounting Team, to provide effective and efficient financial accounting services within a robust control environment to the businesses supported by the Finance Shared Service Centre (FSSC) by following best practice and procedures.

You will be responsible for meeting BSI Group requirements and actively contributing to the management and development of the BSI business.

Key Responsibilities:-

Implement standard processes, promote best practice across the FSSC team and support a culture of continuous improvement.Work with businesses and functional departments to ensure that processes are operating effectively and identify and implement improvements. Coordinate, manage and review balance sheet reconciliations prepared for UK, Middle East and European Legal Entities.Manage and review the fixed assets process ensuring that capital projects follow Group rules for the businesses supported by the FSSC.Review all tax, legal and statutory obligations, including VAT returns and EC Sales lists ensuring they are met by given deadline.Support the FSSC team with the month end process which includes posting accruals, journals and performing other month end duties.Support the intercompany process within the UK entities with their counterparties in AsiaPac, Americas, and European offices following BSI Group rules.  Ensure that services meet KPIs targets and that KPIs are reviewed and agreed with businesses and departments.Support the Financial Accounting team and businesses with the Year End exercise and preparation of the Statutory Accounts. Manage and support the FSSC team with both Internal and External audit deliverables.Support the process of payment run reviews and bank authorisations.Analyse and identify areas of control, weakness or inefficiencies, seeking for best practice and implement the best solution.

To be successful in the role, you will have;

Proven experience in a similar finance role.ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified professional with strong technical accounting expertise.Track record of improving controls and processes, including identifying and implementing control improvements.Good knowledge of the IFRS specially IFRS16 Leases.Good IT skills, especially knowledge of Excel (advanced/macros), and SAP.Proactive with “can do” attitude.Collaborative and team orientated.Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a teamHighly organised and detail conscious.Comfortable working under pressure.Good communication skills at all levels within the organisation.
