The incumbent will provide financial management and support to Wits Sport and will enable the Head of Department to provide full financial accountability. The incumbent is responsible for the management and control of income and expenditure of Wits Sport (council and sport clubs).Brief DescriptionKey responsibilities include the following:
Be accountable for overseeing financial processes, procedures, and controls in an efficient, effective, and professional manner in compliance with University policies and procedures. Be accountable to ensure that the recording of all revenue and costs against the correct accounts is affected.
Be accountable for finalising reconciliations for all financial accounts.
Prepare the required financial information for the Business Manager and Director of Sport to ensure efficient financial management.
Provide monthly management accounts that will facilitate the efficient management of the department.
Responsible for providing financial training for financial staff and Wits Sport Administrators, where applicable.
Requirements
BComm: Accounting qualification
5 years relevant experience at a university management level coupled with people management experience.
Preferences
Experience working in a higher education environment.
