Job Description
The Senior Feature analyst takes overall responsibility for driving requirements by working closely with the Product Owner, Solutions Architect, Designers and Business stakeholders to design and implement industry-led solutions. Guiding and mentoring other feature analysts to deliver on business outcomes. Serve as thought leader for technical business processes that promote increased efficiency and productivity on multiple levels. Supporting the Product Manager /Product Owner in management activities, including scope management, stakeholder management and timely delivery.
Experience / Skills
5-8 years of experience as a Business analyst or Systems analyst in senior / strategic role
Agile experience, with an understanding of the methodology and its principles
Solid understanding and in-depth knowledge of Business and IT capabilities
High level understanding of the architectural landscape
Strong technical knowledge and proven business and systems analysis skills at a senior level
Strategic planning
Ability to motivate and empower teams and individuals.
Experience in JIRA / Confluence / Figma / MIRO
Business Process Modelling tools
Experience in data interpretation.
Qualification/s:
BA / IT qualification
ITIL accredited (Foundation level)
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED, NOT A REQUIREMENT)
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
SAFe certification (advantageous)
Lean Six Sigma Certification (advantageous)
Banking and Financial Services experience
Knowledge of Old Mutual products and processes (optional)

Translates functional specifications into more details to guide development. Responsible for the design and testing of IT solutions to meet business requirements, through own efforts. Mentors junior system analysts.ResponsibilitiesData Collection and AnalysisConduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
Analysis of "As Is" and "To Be"Document "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required.
Business Requirements IdentificationCollect business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis, to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
Requirements ManagementCoordinate the identification and elicitation of requirements; conduct analysis of those requirements for completion and alignment; document and manage requirements throughout the life of the project; and coordinate the verification of the end deliverable. Generally done at the level of project phases.
Application Software Road MapContribute to and maintain a roadmap to facilitate application software development and ensure the development work is prioritized in line with business requirements.
Database SpecificationsContribute to the approval process for database specifications to ensure all agreed standards and protocols are followed and data integrity is preserved.
Enterprise Infrastructure ModernizationParticipate in the development of architecture blueprints for related systems.
Horizon ScanningExplore and develop a basic understanding of external developments or emerging issues and contribute to the evaluation of their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.
Application Software DevelopmentDevelop existing applications and contribute to development of new applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement. Develop new routine applications to meet customer requirements.
Documentation and BackupCreate and maintain complex technical and/or user documentation to a high standard, and back up files to ensure instant recovery if problems occur.
Personal Capability BuildingDevelop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
