The Senior Event Planner will collaborate, create and execute comprehensive large-scale, highly visible internal meetings and client/prospect events across the Associated Bank footprint for 50 to 500+ attendees. Work together with the Executive Leadership Team, line of business leaders and project coordinators to align on vision and strategy. Required ability to prioritize and lead multiple meetings and events simultaneously and in collaboration with clients and business partners, under tight timelines and within budget.
This person will also:
Lead and manage event logistics for overall meeting and event management including hospitality assets for performing arts and sports affinity sponsorships. Responsibilities include budget management, contract negotiations, calendar management, event registration and on-site event execution to ensure successful outcomes.
Negotiate, review and manage contracts with business partners, contract management and legal. Negotiation required for every aspect of meeting and event including food and beverage, audio visual, meeting space, entertainment, guest rooms, transportation, activities, etc.
Manage budgets ranging from $5k to $200k + to ensure maximum efficiency and results. Ensure financial review and invoicing are reconciled promptly. Responsible for creating and communicating budget tracking during event and post event summary. Responsible for ensuring expenses are kept within established parameters. Identify solutions to be cost-efficient in all business needs, while still upholding the Associated Bank brand and quality standards.
Analyze and report on event outcomes, including post-event-surveys and summary of expenses to ensure continuous improvement and ongoing efficiency.
Ability to multi-task, manage critical path timelines, work well under pressure and make sound decisions during unplanned circumstances.
Education
Bachelor's degree in hospitality, Marketing, Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience. Required
Experience
5+ years of professional experience in event planning field, hospitality industry or other work-related experience. Required
Corporate event experience preferred.
Industry accreditation such as Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation preferred.
Effective, well-developed verbal and written communication skills. Ability to navigate the organization with ease, effectively solve problems while remaining calm and demonstrating good judgment when under pressure. Required
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to successfully meet and anticipate expectations of CEO, Executive Leadership Team, LOB leaders and project coordinators. Required
Detail orientated with a focus for flawlessly executed events and meetings while maintaining AB’s brand. Required
Ability to prioritize and lead multiple meetings simultaneously and in collaboration with clients and business partners, under tight timelines and within budget. Required
Proficient technical skills including Microsoft Office tools. Required
Experience with Cvent or similar event planning software preferred.
Available to lift 50 lbs. Required
Ability to work some evenings and weekends. Required
