Senior Estimator


    

Morgan Corp. is currently searching for a Senior Estimator to work with our Savannah, GA Division.  This person will be responsible for the overall project estimate while providing leadership, training, and mentoring for the estimating team.  Works directly with clients, architects/engineers, subcontractors/ suppliers to plan cost factors for building projects; Analyzes construction documents, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures.  Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.  Provide complete conceptual (or bid work) and final estimating input on complex projects.  Provide technical support to personnel preparing discipline estimates for assigned bids.  Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures.  Assist contracting department during preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids as required.  Track awarded contracts as required – may include estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit; procuring materials, etc.  Perform other duties as needed

Education and Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent field experience Minimum of six (6) years commercial construction experience with a minimum of four (4) years of estimating experience History of successfully working internally with the operational team and externally with owners, architects/engineers, and subcontractors

Other Requirements: 

Possess strong mathematical and computer skills  Must be able to meet deadlines  Effective oral and written communication skills  Candidates must possess a strong work ethic  Work independently as well as part of a team  Strong interpersonal and organizational skills  Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies  Research services for methods, costs and construction techniques  Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA Requirements is preferred
