You Role:

EMD Electronics in San Jose, CA, is hiring a Sr. Equipment Engineer. You will join a cross-functional team of integration, process, systems, and software engineers focused on developing standardized processes and methodologies. This role involves collaborating with the equipment support group to ensure the reliability of unit process equipment and evolving it according to the team roadmap. You will tackle diverse challenges related to design, reliability, process control, and data integrity, while supporting the unit process team in creating standardized methodologies for the company.

 

Responsibilities:

Support failure investigation to find cause and implement corrective measures to eliminate recurrenceDevelop preventive maintenance procedures to reduce equipment failuresLead efforts to reduce PM downtime at targeted levels on a variety of equipmentPrepare various technical documents for different equipmentMaintain record of all equipment designs, assimilation chart, technical specifications, etc., for future referenceWrite Standard Operating Procedures for servicing various lab equipmentDevelop and train the equipment techniciansWrite simple recipes and wafer transfer sequences and execute on systemsWork safely with hazardous chemicals and materialsWork with process engineers to assist transitioning prototype hardware to productionActive member of ERT (Emergency Response Team)Provide 24/7 support on maintenance and equipment issues

 

Physical attributes:

Using full face mask respirator and SCBA for extended periodLifting of up to 50 lbs.Working in confined spacesReaching above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basisWearing personal protective equipment

 

Who you are

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics or other Scientific, Engineering or Technical discipline with 8+ years working experience with semiconductor equipment and semiconductor process

-OR-

High School diploma or GED with 12+ years working experience with semiconductor equipment and semiconductor process

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Comprehensive knowledge of the standard principles and concepts of mechanical design and machine automation Experience with PVD, CVD, ALD or Wet chemistry processing toolsCapable of performing all Equipment Technician job functions in areas of responsibilitiesThorough working knowledge safely handling hazardous chemicals and materialsHands on mechanical, electrical, robotic, vacuum, gas delivery, thermal and control systems troubleshooting capabilitiesThorough working knowledge with schematics, P&IDs and manualsIn-depth knowledge of instrumentation and data collection methods

 

Pay Range for this position: $149,000 - $217,300

 

Our ranges are derived from several sources, and largely reliant on relevant industry market data.
