With industry leading product brands across fire, security, access control solutions, we help save lives, protect property, and serve the growing needs to provide safe, smart, connected building and home solutions. **About this role** We have a high visibility opportunity for a Senior Engineering Manager for our Kidde Business Unit in our Mebane, NC area. The successful candidate must possess strong engineering background, product development, systems engineering, and technical leadership competencies to successfully support the Residential Fire Suppression and Signaling life safety product lines. This position is based in Mebane, NC, and will report to the Associate Director, Engineering. **Key Responsibilities:** + Provide strategic technology and management leadership to the engineering and design teams primarily located in Mebane, NC. + Lead a team of approximately 10 employees: responsible for people management, recruiting, development, performance management, compensation, and organizational strategy. + Hire, create and lead highly specialized teams focused on key technology growth areas in fire suppression and signaling. + Ensure a healthy pipeline of new technology and talent into the Engineering organization. + Promote a culture of safety, compliance, innovation, inclusion, technology, and intellectual property leadership. + Work with the product management leaders globally to establish a clear technology strategy, products, and platforms roadmaps. + Lead the team to maintain business continuity, deliver new products, and to execute value engineering and cost-out programs on time with the highest quality and safety standards. + Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical conduct in leading the organization, ensuring the protection of the environment, development of human resources, and application of sound business practices. + Lead/Develop the engineering team through the complete product lifecycle, from initial requirements to design, implementation, test, deployment, sustaining & end-of-life stages. + Help penetrate new markets and discern the competitiveness of new technologies. + Effectively represent the team internally & externally. + Work with Product Management to define product roadmaps and establish/manage project plans, schedules, and resources to meet milestones and objectives. + Partner with Operations to ensure deliverables integrate into their systems within the overall product release schedule. + Responsible for the Engineering budget, resource allocation, and planning. + Represent Technology on Program Management Reviews & Quality Reviews, ensuring engagement & alignment with the business. + Travel required up to 20% - both domestically and internationally. ​ **Role Purpose:** Lead the Engineering team located in NC, FL and Mexico, with overall responsibility for product development, industrialization, and sustaining Residential Fire suppression, mechanical key safe, escape ladders, and Signaling products. This position is based in Mebane, NC, and reports directly to the Associate Director of Engineering. **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s Degree + 10+ years of product development experience **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience in product development experience in life safety products + Knowledgeable with regulatory agencies and standards including but not limited to UL and NFPA. + Excellent communication, negotiating, and influencing skills to communicate technical issues across functions. + A demonstrated leadership style that is collaborative and decisive, with a bias toward speed. + Experience in Quality tools. + Demonstrated experience applying DfSS principles to product design. + Proficient with 3D CAD modeling tools including SolidWorks + Proficient in Microsoft O365, including Excel, PowerPoint, & OneNote + Proficient with PLM and Engineering Change Management tools and processes. + Proficient with ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards + 6 Sigma knowledge desirable + Simulation tools like FEA and CFD is a plus **Travel Requirements:** + Up to 20% including but not limited to USA and Mexico. \#LI-Onsite RSRCAR **Carrier is An Equal** **Opportunity/Affirmative** **Action Employer.
