Senior Engineer Wet Utilities

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Engineer – Wet Utilities to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for conducting technical reviews of A/E consultant design submissions to ensure technical adequacy, consistency, and quality in alignment with approved standards and codes. The role also includes providing professional support in planning wet utility systems storm water, potable water, sewer, and irrigation—ensuring that network systems have sufficient capacity to meet both short-term and long-term service demands

What You'll Be Doing:

Prepares written summary of review comments in Engineering Review Comments (ERC) sheets.

Confirms design comments from previous stage submissions have been correctly addressed and closed out.

Provides technical guidance to personnel within the Section.

Provides technical advice to other RC and SAPL Departments

Represents the Section at the project and inter-sectional meetings, as appropriate.

Prepares/Reviews Request for Proposal (RFP) and Scope of Work (SOW) documents with design concepts.

Provides technical assistance during pre-bid conferences, proposal evaluations, and post-award or other contract conferences.

Reviews vendor/ shop drawings, and construction materials submittals.

Performs field inspections and provides professional field support as necessary during construction phases.

Prepares interface layouts and conflicts solutions.

Prepares / Reviews man-hour estimates for design fee proposals.

Prepares technical correspondence, reports, and studies.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

A recognized university degree in Civil Engineering focusing on wet utilities (Storm water, Potable water, Sewer, and Irrigation).

Minimum of 10 years' experience in designing earthworks, grading, storm water drainage and underground wet utility systems for the development of residential, commercial, and industrial areas

Design experience with tertiary irrigation system is desirable.

Design experience with industrial gas network is desirable.

Design experience with water and wastewater treatment is desirable.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

Professional registration in the appropriate discipline is desirable.

The ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential.

A proven record of technical and administrative ability in design management.

Extensive knowledge of wet utility standards and best practices.

Proficiency with and hands-on experience of design software including Autodesk Civil 3D, Sewer GEMS, Water GEMS, or any similar, is essential.

Experience with BIM and utility clash detection is highly desirable.
