About the Position:

Marine Installation department has the main responsibility for all marine operations and engineering work related to installation, transport and protection of subsea cables in Nexans, both in Norway and worldwide.  The marine installation engineering group is part of the Marine installation department. The Marine engineering group is divided in three disciplines areas, marine cable laying, Protection/Survey and marine mechanical/design. The position as Senior Project Engineer will be in the marine Protection/Survey discipline area.

Responsibilities and tasks:

Have the responsibility for the technical solution for the marine protection SOW and be a technical resource during planning and executing the SOW, assist the Marine Lead Engineer to follow up on the schedule, cost and resources for the main SOW. SOW: Perform contract review and get an overview of the protection SOW, needed equipment and milestones.  Cost: give input on protection part of installation budget Review project MDR, schedule (focus on engineering, procurement and installation), procurement plan etc. Take ownership of the protection engineering work in the project Develop documents/drawings according to MDR Ensure that assessments of the protection requirements are performed, evaluated with feasibility and aligned with contract/client requirements

Qualifications:

Leadership skill both on a technical and personal level Engineer with relevant education, preferable BACHELOR or higher. Extensive experience with similar positions can compensate for formal education. Experience from engineering work related to offshore work, cable installation, Cable/Pipe protection or seabed intervention. Ability to solve complex problems and think outside the box Fluent  English, verbal and written. Preferable also Norwegian. Be able to work in teams as well as independently High sense of quality, cost and time performance Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative Ability to adapt to change
