Senior Engineer, Petroleum
Job description / Role Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose

Prepare design concepts for wells and amenities including defining and evaluating options for operating the field over the life of the development and creating and validating integrated production system models. Estimates capital expenditure and operating costs of the wells and facilities over the full life cycle of the field. Prepare proposals and schedules for well completions, testing and re-entry and participates in production optimization projects by carrying out, thorough investigation and proposals for stimulation, hydraulic fracturing, artificial lift and other operations enhancement methods aimed at meeting the company's oil and gas production objectives.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)
- Develop detailed proposals for all well completions, testing, workovers and re-entry programs, or special programs for well stimulation, hydraulic fracturing, artificial lift and corrosion and scaling inhibition. Reviews well history and verifies wellhead and downhole pressures, flow rates, etc., to design standard program features applicable to proposed work, or to serve as basis for more complex and innovative studies and designs. Locates and evaluates various techniques, equipment and contractor services to design and implement programs that fully meet team's objectives and requirements for safe, efficient and cost effective operational and developmental projects.
- Analyse production and test data, prepares well status reports and notes anomalies for investigation.
- Identify re-entry candidates for inclusion in drilling sequence. Reviews performance of related wells and recommends additional or specialized tests and sample analyses to investigate and recommend short-term solutions or directs further testing and study of more complex problems, as appropriate. Also routinely liaises with Field Operations and Drilling to review production data acquisition, analyses procedures and recommends improvement, where feasible.
- Supervise operator and/or contractors carrying out hydraulic fracturing, special tests, stimulation, completion, estimates and monitors contract services and equipment costs for control of individual well budgets

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 2)
- Prepare regular management reports such as the weekly Exploration Division highlights, Daily exploration / appraisal well drilling reports; Monthly exploration / appraisal drilling overview and seismic bar chart and maps, etc.
- Provide recommendations to the Department Manager on the acquisition of new software and hardware related to well flow performance optimization and prepares justifications for these acquisitions.
- Support ADNOC at technical meetings with Group companies and its shareholders, SPC companies, contractors, vendors, universities, Petroleum Institute and other third parties on subjects concerning undeveloped gas reservoirs or ADNOC in general and comment on the petroleum engineering projects carried out by them.
- Carry out the delegated tasks to evaluate projects/studies carried out by Group companies, SPC companies, contractors and other third parties in Group companies' joint ventures, on behalf of ADNOC, for joint ADNOC-third party studies or otherwise.

- Frequent support and contact with related ADNOC disciplines for effective two-way communications.
- Frequent contacts with work associates and concerned staff in Group Companies to discuss, follow-up and review matters related to field development plans including drilling and testing operations

External Communications & Working Relationships
- Liaises with peers in Group companies and Shareholders to share knowledge and best practices in the areas of Exploration and Production.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor Degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- 5-6 years of Petroleum Engineering experience with strong experience in the drilling, well design and operations of sour gas wells completion and testing.

Professional Certifications
- Well Control certificate
- H2S awareness certificate
