We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with expertise in sensor technologies, analog circuit design, wireless communication, embedded systems, and Edge AI hardware and applications. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and optimize innovative electronic systems and devices, integrating advanced sensors and analog components with low-power, wireless communication protocols. This role requires proficiency in embedded system development, including firmware programming, real-time processing, and hardware optimization. This engineer will develop Edge AI solutions that process data locally for efficiency and speed. The candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop robust, scalable, and high-performance systems for applications in healthcare, ensuring technical excellence from concept to deployment.

Designs and develops innovative biomedical engineering systems, solving complex challenges with creativity and practicality. Gains expertise in applicable engineering discipline, engineering software skills, and metrology. Contributes to technology evaluations and capital equipment selection. Understands and adheres to the Division's Quality Management System and safety risk management practices. Works to develop expertise in regulatory requirements. Has strong communication skills including the ability to create clear engineering documentation. 



Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of professional engineering experience; Or MS in Engineering or related field and 3 year of professional engineering experience; Or, PhD in Engineering or related field and 1 year of professional engineering experience. Masters preferred.  Proficiency with electronic Computer Aided Design tools and modeling software.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.Basic experience with Edge AI hardware and applications, including local data processing and optimization.Foundational knowledge in embedded systems development, including firmware programming, real-time processing, and hardware integration.Familiarity with sensor design and integration, analog circuit design, and low-power systems.Understanding of wireless communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, LoRa) and their implementation.Exposure to signal processing and hardware-software co-design for performance optimization.Awareness of product development lifecycles, including prototyping, testing, and transitioning concepts into scalable solutions.Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills, with a willingness to work in multidisciplinary teams.Interest in healthcare technologies or regulated environments is a plus.
