Senior Electrical Engineer

You will join our electrical design team in the Arcadis Romania office. As an electrical design engineer, you must have the following skills:

Electrical design of building including load calculation High voltage substations (primary, secondary and 3D modeling), grounding installations and EMC. Medium Voltage substations and cable network High & Medium voltage network analysis Power distribution networks and associated cable network installations

The job purpose is to design different types of medium voltage installations (power, grounding, lightning protection, cable networks, command and control).

As a Team Member for the high/medium Voltage Team, you will be at the heart of all our electrical projects, focused on the Netherlands region, but not limited. This role will require a hands-on approach, as you will be designing, overseeing and directing the HV team's performance, ensuring top-quality service and adherence to all safety regulations. You will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, and executing various electrical projects, keeping in mind their successful completion within the desired timeline and budget.

Role accountabilities:

Project Planning & Execution: Contribute to planning and design, ensuring efficient execution of all projects. Quality Assurance: Ensure the team adheres to the highest quality standards, safety regulations, and current legislation. Team Development: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members to develop their skills and enhance team performance. Communication & Collaboration: Act as a point of contact for the electrical team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Communicate effectively with other team leaders, stakeholders, and clients, reporting on the progress and challenges of the projects. Continuous Improvement: Assess and review team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans to maximize efficiency. Other disciplines.

Qualifications & Experience:

Mandatory:

At least Bachelor’s degree (Electrical Engineer, Energetics or similar); Good knowledge of electrical HV and/or MV design; Ensures compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements Leads complex electrical engineering projects from conception to completion Mentors and guides junior engineers in electrical design principles and best practices Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of electrical systems with other engineering disciplines Experience in cable calculation, load flow calculation, short circuit calculation, transformer sizing, grounding design; Experience in HV and/or MV protection devises and selectivity studies; You need to easily interpret electrical schematics of existing installations, current standards, suppliers’ specifications and scope documents as base of the engineering; A strong affinity for electrical engineering and willing to continue to build technical expertise; Minimum 5 years of experience in the domain; Good English language communication and spoken skills; Good knowledge of Autocad; Accuracy and details focused; Technical and quality focused; Ability to coordinate multiple people; Good time management skills.

Nice to have:

Knowledge of specialized software (REVIT, ETAP, EPLAN, Intelec, Xandra, etc.); ANRE certificate IIIA or IVA; Knowledge of Dutch would be considered a significant plus, given the focus on the Netherlands market.
