Job Summary:          Responsible for the management and development of all Directors of Physician Offices and their assigned service lines within the Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health organization. Directs, supervises, and coordinates operations of clinical and administrative functions within the practices. Serves as  liaison for assigned physician practices, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

Essential Functions of the Position:

 

Responsibilities Establishes a system of controls by designing and enforcing checks and balances to minimize the risk of financial loss and ensure organizational integrity. Oversees the collaboration of clinical and business staff in the development of policies, procedures, programs, protocols, and systems, to provide an efficient and accurate patient encounter that will improve the organization's effectiveness, and the quality of patient outcomes. Assists the Chief Operating Officer in developing short and long-term strategic planning for the physician practices within Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health to ensure successful growth, profitability, and compliance Oversees the practice start-up process for newly employed physicians and groups under area(s) or responsibility. Ensures compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and systems related to fiscal management, human resource management, health care administration, managed care administration, governmental regulations, and corporate compliance requirements. Demonstrates skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving and decision-making. Demonstrates skill in analysis, development of comprehensive reports and interpretation of complex data. Sets priorities and avoids crises management. Demonstrates competence in leadership, communication, professionalism, organizational and analytical skills, and technical/professional skills and knowledge in performance of duties and responsibilities rendered to the customer population served. Develops and maintains effective relationship with medical and administrative staff, patients, and the public. Effectively communicates both in writing and verbally. Prepares and presents reports to senior executives. Remains calm and poised in urgent situations. Promotes exceptional customer service and teamwork within all areas of responsibility Manages People Has managerial responsibility for all Directors of Physician Offices.  Meets regularly with Directors and staff. Assists Directors, Associate Directors, Managers, and Supervisors with coaching, counseling, and problem resolution Evaluates employee performance and provides appropriate feedback, guidance, and professional development Recommends and supports professional development in a positive way Collaborates with physician recruiting Counsels, disciplines and/or recommends termination of employees for assigned departments Makes recommendations and changes related to staffing needs Attends and/or holds meetings for assigned departments Addresses and coordinates training needs of departments and providers Develops and maintains criteria based job descriptions and evaluations for all assigned departments and positions Operational Effectiveness and Efficiency Leads and takes ownership of provider practices to achieve operational goals in collaboration with Associate Directors and CAO Sets up new provider offices, new locations and oversees mergers of practices Creates and maintains effective, professional communications between all levels, including key management and team members Arranges division meetings with Administration Quality Provides oversight and direction to ensure quality metric are met Supports a culture of patient quality, safety and risk reduction through Promotes consistent positive patient interactions Develops and oversees implementation and administration of policies and procedures as well as FMCOH standard.  Ensures compliance of applicable laws, rules and regulations Serves as a role model by maintaining adherence to “code of conduct” and “mission and value statement” Ensures compliance with and knowledge of company’s code of conduct by all subordinates to ensure an ethical working environment Finance Develops, implements and monitors practice budgets including analyzing financial reports. Recommends corrective action as required Oversees the expenses to ensure financial targets are met Manages practices and ensures they are operated in accordance with the FMCOH standards and policies Analyzes the practices and conducts audits to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures Ensures practice staff follows all revenue cycle guidelines Develops cost/benefit analysis of equipment or new services

 

Strategy Researches locations for new departments or services Supports company strategic initiatives Identifies opportunities for improvement and innovation Collaborates effectively with Key Management leaders and proactively identifies development opportunities Meets regularly with physicians to review key performance indicators  and financial performance Pilots new software programs or equipment to determine their value Participates in Key Management as a Senior Manager in the organization Identifies needs of the Clinic and provides recommendations to the Key Management Team

 

Additional Responsibilities:

Represents the organization to the external market through appropriate community relations and marketing activities. Leads and supports key committees to achieve service line initiatives or represent the service line in overall operations. Participates in the planning and design of information systems and standard reports related to service line. Recommends the development of and oversees the implementation of administrative policies and operating procedures. Ensures adherence to local, state, and federal governmental regulations. Completes all organizational mandatory education. Performs other duties as assigned

 Job Qualifications:

Master's degree in health or business administration preferred; or minimum 8 years progressive management experience in a large multi practice environment Effective working knowledge of healthcare financial management, operations and strategy.  Participated in onboarding of new physician practices, providers, and staff
