Senior Director of Clinical Affairs

Delivers clinical knowledge, experience and expertise across the whole value chain from ideation to end-of-life. Focus in ensuring insights on scientific trends, practices and ethics are embedded in the relevant Philips processes, as well as using insights for commercial purposes such as customer relationship building and Philips ambassadorship. Main content areas in scope include Scientific partners also international healthcare organizations, value-based healthcare, hospital economics and market access.

Your role:

Provide thought leadership on key relevant clinical topics to support strategy development and strategy execution.Build Clinical Affairs, Market Access and outcomes research capability and governance (together with HEMAR-Teams) with critical competencies to meet strategic business needs, current and future clinical and economic evidence needs and optimizing the organization’s research portfolio decisions as part of the category and business MT in alignment with the CMO.Support the creation and maintenance of a Clinical and Economic Strategy.Ensure clinical and economic evidence strategies drive innovation, and deliver evidence of value to clinical and non‐clinical stakeholders for new and existing products/ solutions for registration, adoption, market development and claims substantiation.Support regulatory teams during the submission process.Provide effective and compliant pre and post-market clinical follow-up and scientific contribution to safety management.Provide leadership in developing talent with critical competencies in robust scientific thinking to meet current and future clinical evidence challenges.Oversee all Clinical Affairs and outcomes research operational processes End2End and throughout the lifecycle including BD and M&A diligence and decisionsLead Clinical Affairs, teams on clinical investigation notifications/ approval requests to applicable authoritiesProvide clinical and scientific oversight of local marketing and labeling materials and HCP commercial dialogues on evidence according to requirementsEnsure effective, efficient and compliant Clinical Affairs processes in collaboration with Corporate Clinical Affairs.

You're the right fit if:

PhD or Medical Degree preferred10+ years experience in medical/ clinical affairs within medical device/ biotech industry8+ years of experience leading people through transformation and change managementDeep knowledge of disease state, clinical information, and product data for the businessLead in supporting Business decision making on clinical evidence topics e.g. evaluation of clinical and regulatory risk, investments, etc.Proven ability to manage talent with focus on talent development to ensure succession planning with strong scientific thinking embedded in the teamDeep knowledge clinical trial design and execution, data interpretation, etc. ideally partially with non-therapeutic devices.You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position is $223,000 to $350,000, annually.  The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.  

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.  Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.  Details about our benefits can be found here. 

At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
