Senior Director, Store Finance (Regional Finance & Payroll Efficiency)

With 2023 revenues of $20\.4 billion, we are a Fortune 500 company who is committed to providing an inclusive work environment with continuous learning opportunities and development for our teams\. **GENERAL PURPOSE:** The Senior Director of Store Finance \(Regional Finance & Payroll Efficiency\) leads Field reporting, forecasting support, and leveraging data to help improve the quality and consistency of Store Operations \(this includes My Dashboard and other RDW reports\)\. In addition, the Senior Director is responsible for identifying and implementing efficiency opportunities for how we budget, plan, and manage Store Payroll expense, covering the labor cost of all Ross and dd's Store associates up to and including Store Managers and Security Protection Specialists\. The Senior Director should approach the role through a lens of process improvement, which could include updated file structures, new systems, or leveraging new/different data sources to drive efficiency in all team processes\. The Senior Director will interact frequently with the Group Vice President of Store Finance and the SVPs and VPs of other stores functions \(the Field, Corporate Finance, Operations and LP\)\. A successful candidate must build and leverage strong partnerships with the NYBO Planning Team, Inventory Control, and Transportation in order to maintain a "pulse" on the business and how key workload drivers \(for Stores\) will vary throughout the year\. The Senior Director will lead a team of 7 Regional Finance Managers\. The base salary range for this role is $147,800 \- $278,150\. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location\. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees\. Other rewards vary by position and location\. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** • Lead the Regional Finance and Reporting function, in partnership with Field Leaders \(RVP, GVP, SVP\) and IT/MSI o Lead the team of Regional Finance Managers \(RFM\) to support Field Operations\. o Clarify opportunities for improvement on key operational metrics through exception reporting and trend analysis\. o Collaborate with key partners in Store Operations to provide financial control, exception management, and operational support\. o Partner with other members of the Store Finance team to develop field\-driven inputs to store payroll, expense, capital, and G&A budgets \(particularly Store and G&A travel\)\. o Structure, complete and supervise completion of various complex analyses to answer questions that arise around store performance, return on investment, operational issues and other topics\. Effectively communicate results and recommended action steps to senior executive audiences\. o Manage all aspects of the Store Dashboard to ensure it is aligned with field leadership focus and overall corporate goals\. Partner with IT/MSI to drive implementation and change management for dashboard enhancements\. o Lead the annual process to collect and prioritize requested changes to existing reports and requests for automation or creation of new reports\. Work with IT and business users to help create report requirement and design documents and facilitate the review and approval of these documents\. o Identify and initiate improvements to the reporting process, and support the Store Operations team to support the rollout and change management for new and or changed reporting\. • Identify and implement efficiency opportunities for how we budget, plan, and manage all Store Payroll expense o Assess how we currently manage store labor expense, and identify / implement payroll process improvements, including daily, weekly and monthly payroll activities such as payroll allocations, field and executive reporting, reconciliations and analyses\. Proactively identify potential issues or challenges o Ensure Store Payroll budgets and 5 Year Plans are created based on sound assumptions, are accurate, and have been appropriately vetted and reviewed by relevant business partners • Develop a high performing team\. Coach and develop the team to maximize performance and value addition to the company while maintaining high morale\. Cultivate a mindset of process improvement and efficiency at all levels\. **COMPETENCIES:** • Managing and Measuring Work • Communication • Business Acumen • Drive for Results • Planning and Organizing • Building Effective Teams • Developing Direct Reports • Process Management **QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:** • Bachelor's degree required with demonstrated superior college performance \(preferably in an analytical field\)\. • CPA or MBA preferred\. • Minimum of 10 years post college experience with demonstrated success at increasing levels of responsibility • Strong familiarity with core financial planning and analysis processes including budgeting, forecasting and financial control process design • Outstanding analytical ability \- must have a data driven approach to solving problems\. Requires very strong quantitative skills, a good sense of how to dissect problems and a strong ability to "connect the dots" \- e\.g\., understand how pieces of data interact with each other or how one finding should inform the result of another analysis • Track record of successful team development \- managing a team to high levels of performance and developing team members for growth and advancement • A clear understanding of basic financial, statistical and economic concepts • Excellent communication skills \- must be able to clearly communicate results and implications of analysis in both verbal and written \(PowerPoint\) forms • A detail\-oriented approach: Must pay very close attention to details and have the drive to get things right • Relationship Building \- needs to be able to build effective working relationships with a broad range of people within the Store Finance, Field, LP and senior executive teams • Strong fundamental business technical skills \- must be Excel and PowerPoint proficient and have an ability to learn new business process software applications \(Hyperion, DART, Flash Sales\)\. • Must be trustworthy with confidential information **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:** Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer\. Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in\-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc\. Consistent timeliness and regular attendance\.
