This is what you will do:
The Senior Director of Market Access Site of Care Contracting Strategy will be responsible for making decisions on which IDNs, Medical Groups, and other Provider Organizations to offer contracts to, including determining pricing, terms, and conditions. This role will also be responsible for developing strategies to ensure adequate reimbursement across channels and owning 340b strategic initiatives. This is a field based role and reports to the Executive Director, US Strategic Contracting & Pricing.
You will be responsible for:
Leading the assessment and strategic selection of provider organizations for high impact contracting opportunitiesDefining and negotiating acceptable contract terms and structures to optimize provider org relationships, grow the Alexion portfolio and avoid utilization managementDetermines which brands to contract with at provider organizations and what discount ranges are acceptableArchitecting a comprehensive framework for evaluating potential agreements, identifying key contracting triggers, and forecasting contract ROIConducting in-depth analyses of pre- and post-deal performance to derive actionable insights on agreement effectiveness across brands and provider segmentsFormulating and executing strategies to ensure adequate reimbursement across all channels and key stakeholdersCrafting and implementing targeted strategies for Acute and Non-Acute GPOsCoordinating with the US strategic accounts team to identify contracting opportunities, ensure seamless contract execution and maximize pull-throughCoordinating with contracting analytics to minimize ASP erosion due to potential contracting decisionsStrategizing and executing initiatives to address potential misreporting within VA/DOD entities, ensuring compliance and accuracySpearheading high-impact strategic initiatives within the VA and DOD, aligning with organizational goalsEstablishing and enforcing policies for Alexion’s interactions with the VA/DOD, ensuring adherence to strategic objectivesDesigning and implementing comprehensive reimbursement strategies across diverse channels and stakeholder groupsDevelops Alexion 340b strategies and strategic initiativesYou will need to have:
Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field7-9+ years of related and/or transferable experience in a biotech or pharma companyKnowledge of the US provider organizations, as well as subject matter expertise of provider contracting and government pricing dynamicsKnowledge of the flow of dollar and net cost recovery dynamics within the provider organizationsDemonstrated ability to communicate complex business challenges recommendations effectively and concisely to senior leadersDemonstrated experience developing and leading the implementation of U.S. market access strategiesProject management experience and excellent analytical, strategic thinking, creativity and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teamsAbility to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environmentAbility to use excellent influencing and negotiating skillsAbility to shape and execute individually (without direct supervision) and by leading cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence in the face of challenging goalsHigh level of demonstrated experience utilizing Microsoft suite (e.g. PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Travel Requirements: Up to 15% overnight travelThe duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment.
