Job Description

As the Senior Director of Channel Marketing, you will guide and support our retail channel partners, fostering relationships to drive growth for our Outdoors Business Unit. You will oversee the channel team’s efforts across multiple brands, managing relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders to develop strategic marketing plans tailored to each business's needs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Brand, Sales, Digital, Product Marketing, and Finance to ensure strong brand execution and a cohesive consumer experience. Your role will be crucial in expanding the company's presence in diverse market segments and driving revenue through effective channel strategies.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business, and (8+) years of experience in the building products industry with a background in product, marketing, and/or sales in the Retail Channels and knowledge of Wholesale Channels. You will have (5+) in customer marketing/account ownership with P&L management with demonstrated experience in critical and innovative thinking across multiple brands & channels with a deep understanding of consumer marketing and retailer needs across a multi-category and multi-brand global organization.

This is a hybrid designated role, which includes working 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) out of one of our Fortune Brands hub locations (Maumee, Ohio: North Olmsted, OH) and you must be able to travel 30% of the time for customer visits.

What you will be doing:

Oversee briefs and statuses with cross-functional teams for alignment, execution, and deliverables.Monitor and report on KPIs, using data to inform future marketing strategies.Develop comprehensive channel marketing strategies aligned with business goals, identifying key markets, segments, and channels for growth.Manage and guide strategy through execution, leveraging data insights to enhance strategies and stay updated on industry best practices.Enable channel partners through training, education, and marketing collateral, ensuring they have the necessary resources to drive sales success.Design and execute channel marketing programs, promotions, and campaigns to drive demand generation and sales adaptation.Build and retain strong relationships with channel partners, distributors, and key stakeholders, addressing their needs and feedback.Conduct market research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, refining channel strategies for maximum impact.Establish key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of channel marketing initiatives and provide actionable insights.Manage the channel marketing budget, allocating resources effectively to achieve desired outcomes.Collaborate closely with sales, product/channel management, and other internal teams to ensure alignment of channel marketing efforts with overall go-to-market strategies.

 

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business field required.8-10+ years’ experience in the building products industry with a product, marketing, and/or sales background in Retail Channel Marketing.Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience including customer marketing or account ownership with P&L managementMust have strategic channel marketing management experience.Background in both B2C and B2B (channel) marketing.Strong understanding of sales channels and channel dynamics.Possess or obtain intimate knowledge of industry products, services, distribution, customers & competitors.Various market segments and channel experience.Experience managing multiple projects and timelines.Ability to analyze data and extract insights.Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.Strong capabilities in tactical marketing and execution required.Strong negotiation skills.Strong analysis skills, including the ability to arrive at insights from data.Strong aptitude for data and reporting. Familiar with and embrace tools of the trade including Tableau or similar BI platforms (i.e., Adobe reporting, Google Analytics, etc.).Demonstrated ability to be a team player with skills to guide/participate in cross-functional teams.Demonstrated effective verbal, written and presentation skills.Advanced computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SAP).Able to travel 30% as needed to offices and customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA in Marketing, Business, or related field.Prior consumer/durable goods experience.Knowledge of Wholesale ChannelsExperience with Project Management and Marketing Production.Creative and strategic mindset that works well in fast-paced cross-functional team environments.
