Engineering Experience (EXP) comprises leaders, product managers, software and DevOps engineers, and business analysts, all aligned on delivering broad value across numerous enablement spaces, from public cloud technologies to developer portals and observability tools. EXP partners closely with its stakeholders within Cimpress Technology and beyond to enable hyper-localized and business-wide outcomes that enhance the engineering experience and journey of our companies' products, services, and customers.

The Yeti team within EXP supports the Cimpress Technology development community by offering guidance and tools to minimize the time spent on repetitive operational tasks, allowing more focus on providing value to end-customers. At the heart of our development philosophy lies a strong emphasis on data, automation, iterative development, and best practices. As a DevOps Engineer (PR2), you'll be part of a skilled engineering group responsible for upholding quality DevOps, observability, and reliability concepts throughout the organization.

 

What You Will Do:

Engage with customers to understand their challenges and provide them with customized solutions to meet their observability needs, using a combination of SaaS, open source, and internal tools. (GitLab, New Relic, PagerDuty, and more) Support SaaS products in a production environment along with general best practices on how the business can best leverage those products. Communicate and collaborate effectively in an asynchronous work environment, ensuring clarity and demonstrating iterative, value-driven development. Break down complex projects into manageble tasks, develop proof of concepts, and architectscalable solutions. Teach engineers the "3 Ways of DevOps" and how to apply them in real-world development and deployment scenarios. Create and curate documentation to promote the best practices of observability and reliability concepts. Identify potential problems that customers have with keeping up with their reliability practices. (SLO/SLI, Error Budgets, etc) Frequently participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high-quality code. Develop and maintain internal automation tools, focusing on applying clean code, MVP principles, and test-driven development.

 

Your Qualifications:

Excellent oral and written communication skills, with fluency in English. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience in a related field. 2+ years of demonstrated experience working on a team in a related technical field. Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python or Bash to automate tasks and contribute to development projects. Demonstrated knowledge of object oriented principles. Genuine passion for DevOps, continuous learning, and experimentation methodologies. Self-driven attitude with the initiative to pursue solutions and seek learning opportunities.

 

Nice to Have:

More than a passing familiarity with AWS technologies such as CloudWatch, CloudFormation, Lambda, and IAM Experience with Agile methodologies like JIRA or other Issue Tracking systems Solid understanding of Git Operations and/or source code management (SCM) solutions Practical knowledge of CI/CD, logging, monitoring, and alerting practices common in software observability Comfort with collaboration, open communication, and reaching across functional borders
