Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Utilizes production and/or development equipment in sample preparation activities. Operates all equipment in a safe and clean manner.Carries out assigned experiments, captures data, and creates detailed reports summarizing key findings.Takes ownership of assigned projects and works independently to complete milestones on time.Assists engineering with process recipe development, prototype manufacturing, and transfer to production activities in alignment with quality assurance protocols.Performs visual and dimensional inspection of products, collects and interprets inspection reports from auditors, and suggests process adjustments as necessary.Provides general support including packaging, rework, assembly and hardware install.Leads troubleshooting efforts by investigating product defects, identifying problems, and initiating/implementing process improvements.Provides guidance in other areas including, but not limited to: design-for-manufacturing, planning, time/cost estimates, material handling, assembly, design/creation of custom test rigs, running custom parts tests, capturing and reporting data.Required Minimum Qualifications
Education/Certifications: HS Diploma required; Associates degree in general sciences or engineering preferred
Skills and Experience:
5+ years of technical experience in manufacturing and/or developmentMust be experienced with basic lab equipment and in utilizing analytical measuring instruments (calipers, scales, etc.;). Must be able to observe, measure and enter testing results into electronic reporting systemAbility to follow multi-step proceduresIn-depth understanding of process related product equipment and processes. Advanced knowledge of testing equipmentStrong mechanical aptitude to perform routine cleaning & maintenance and troubleshootingStrong mathematical background. Must be able to solve simple algebraic equations for sample preparationStrong time management skills with the ability to complete tasks within project timelinesDemonstrated initiative; a self-starter requiring minimal supervisionExperience in safely handling chemicals. Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as eye, ear and foot protectionProficient in MS Office – Excel, Word & PowerPointProficient with SAPCapable of managing small projectsSix Sigma Yellow Belt certification preferredStrong understanding of GD&T preferredAbility to occasionally lead cross functional teamsAbility to interact in customer facing meetings preferredJob Environment:
