Summary\r

The NTS team plans, designs, builds and operates Bell’s multi-billion-dollar broadcast, fiber, 5G, and security networks. Successful candidates joining the NTS team will be given the opportunity to get hands on experience using next generation technology while collaborating with peers from a wide variety of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. On our team, you’ll have the opportunity to use your expertise in data analysis to direct capital to the projects with the greatest return for Bell. 
 

Key Responsibilities\rReporting to the Senior Manager, Wireless Planning, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Scientist to drive analytics for wireless planningWork with Network Big Data & AI CoE team members, Network Engineering, Operations as well as other Bell Businesses to understand and analyze business needsReview solutions developed by team members to ensure they are efficient, scalable and resilientExplore new sources of information to uncover new business opportunities at all levels of the business (strategic to operational)Exercise leading edge analytics skills to identify previously undetected patterns of behavior or correlations between related datasetsBe able to create and deliver presentations to peers and managementMaintain and expand knowledge of data systems and current technology through training opportunitiesWork in an agile environment and contribute to the improvement of our development processes
 Critical Qualifications\rA Bachelors or Master’s degree in computer science, math, applied science / engineering, or equivalent3+ years of total experience with a minimum of 1 year working with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence algorithms and approachesExperience with Jupyter Notebook, GIT, and other software management toolsAbility to leverage insights and opportunities from data and metrics to build strategies and make recommendationsAdvanced skills with SQL and database systems such as MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, Hive, ImpalaFamiliarity working with SQL databases and structured databasesSkills with multiple analytical tools such as Microstrategy, R, Python, Scala, TableauKnowledge of, and preferably experience with, Big Data and/or software development, and/or developing visualization tools
 Preferred Qualifications\rStatistics and math backgroundExperience working in Linux/UNIX environmentExperience with GIS packages and tools such as MapInfo, Practical knowledge with DevOps tools and programming/scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go, Ansible, GIT, etc.Experience in Telecom is a strong asset
