Senior Deal Manager

The Senior Deal Manager is recognized as an expert by the teams they work with and act as a mentor to peers. They communicate and negotiate with internal and external business partners to execute on loan purchase contracts, act as the primary point of contact for business partners and manage the new buyer onboarding process.

About the Role

Serve as the business partner’s primary point of contact regarding dealsDrive whole loan trading technology enhancements and workflow process improvementLead various business owners through the contracting process, including acting as an internal liaison between the legal team and business owners, negotiating deal terms with external counterparties and approving business contractsCommunicate final deal terms and support business owners with their implementationConduct research to identify alternative courses of action, executing as neededManage new buyer onboarding project phases, including managing internal/external client expectations, leading communications, and facilitating executionStay informed of upcoming trends, changes, and risks in the broader marketProactively communicate with leadership and assist with additional projects as neededMentor and train other team membersOwner of rating agency originator and servicing assessment process and subject matter expert of RMBS ratings methodologies

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

5 years of experience in transaction management, writing contracts or a related roleBachelor’s degree in finance, business, or equivalent mortgage experienceExpertise negotiating and constructively handling disagreementExtensive knowledge of loan purchase and loan servicing contracts, including Representation and Warranty frameworksExtensive knowledge of multiple trading executions, such as securitization structures and whole loan sales, and their associated risksKnowledge of securitization documents, including engagement letters, initial purchaser agreements, term sheets, and offering memorandumsKnowledge of current regulations, such as Regulation AB, and Qualified Residential Mortgage (QRM), and how they impact transactionsProficiency in the Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in finance, business, or equivalent mortgage experience7 years of experience in transaction management, writing contracts or a related role
