Senior Data Scientist // Healthcare Experience // Remote // Los Angeles Los Angeles, California **100% Remote** Contract $65/hr - $70/hr **Contract Data Scientist** Our client, a prominent healthcare organization committed to enhancing patient care and safety, is seeking a skilled **Data Scientist** for a 12-month contract role. This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must reside near Pasadena, CA, for occasional onsite meetings. **Key Responsibilities:** + Analyze and interpret complex data to support organizational goals in healthcare. + Design and build data architectures and pipelines. + Apply statistical techniques and machine learning methods to derive actionable insights. + Collaborate across teams, communicating findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. + Utilize and integrate data from electronic health records (EPIC Clarity), medical claims, coding systems (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 PCS), and healthcare databases (e.g., CMS, DMHC, DHCAI, HCUP/AHRQ). **Required Skills & Qualifications:** + Proficiency in statistical analysis and problem-solving. + Strong experience with statistical programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL). + Expertise in advanced statistical methods (e.g., regression, distribution properties, statistical testing). + Knowledge of machine learning techniques (e.g., clustering, decision trees, neural networks) and their practical applications. + Proven ability to manipulate large datasets and develop statistical models. + Master’s or Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field. + Familiarity with data mining techniques (e.g., GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, text mining). + Experience with healthcare data systems, medical coding, and federal/state repositories. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Passion for learning new technologies and methodologies. **Preferred Experience:** + Background in healthcare, behavioral health, or finance is highly desirable.
