Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Data Governance Specialist with hands on experience in implementing data governance practices and tooling in a global enterprise. You will join a team of specialists with great passion for data governance and data management. Together as a team, we will work on building capabilities for federated data governance, aiming for computational governance that will enable governance by design. Your role in the team will be to focus on driving the design of data governance practices, guardrails, and guidelines for meta- and master data management, that enable a future implementation of these practices in e.g. Data Catalogue and/or Master Data Management tooling. This will not only require design of technical capabilities for data governance but also ability to educate data stakeholders on how to define and implement data governance policies and practices. 

Responsibilities 

The role of a Data Governance specialist within the H&M group comes with a lot of responsibility – and lots of fun. Here is a list of what you can expect to work with: 

Establish efficient capabilities for data management with well-defined processes supported by fit for purpose tooling. 

Support Data Domain Owners and Data Stewards define and implement efficient ways of working for management and governance of data. 

Collaborate with Data Custodians to define efficient ways of working for data management in the solution landscape. 

Collaborate with architecture community to ensure alignment of data implementations with business rules and best practice ways of working. 

Collect and define requirements for the tooling in your area of expertise.  

Collect requirements for improved functionality and ensure continuous improvement of tooling and ways of working. 

Qualifications

You have a positive attitude with a holistic mindset and are typically skilled in enabling collaboration and empower teams. 

We believe that you possess the following skills and experiences: 

Applicable working experience or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) 

High level of knowledge in Master Data Management and/or Metadata Management with hands on experience of implementing tooling. 

Good knowledge in at least 1-2 other areas of Data Management (e.g. Data Quality Management) 

Some understanding of the different elements of data management, and how they are all needed to achieve fit for purpose data.  

Knowledge about different governance frameworks (e.g. DAMA, EDM…) 

Experience from writing guidelines and guardrails. 

Experience from large and global organizations. 

Used to working with both technical and business questions. 

Excellent verbal communication and documentation capacity in English. 

It is beneficial if you have previous experience from project management and agile way of working. 

Additional Information

This is a fulltime position with placement in Stockholm. You will report to the Unit Lead of Data Governance & Community Unit at Business Tech and “AI, Analytics and Data” Tech Center. In this position you will have the possibility to form the data driven ways of working in a company with an amazing company culture.
