About the role

This is a unique opportunity for a systematic, creative, and experienced individual to make a big impact on Gartner’s client experience. We are looking for a results-driven, self-motivated problem solver who can shape data management at Gartner. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will help operate our data platform and identify opportunities to innovate and drive value.

What you will do:

Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain SQL code independently for intermediate to complex procedures in Oracle and Postgres environmentsAssist with migration from Oracle to PostgresAssist in the development, maintenance, and support of backend databasesTroubleshoot data issues, assist with ad-hoc requestsCollaborate with microservices teams to drive data design and integrationCreate self-service data applications using frameworks such as Streamlit so common requests do not need manual interventionAutomate repeatable tasks using Python

What you will need:

Bachelor’s Degree in math, statistics, engineering, or a related field required5+ years of Information Technology experienceProficiency in SQL to perform data loads, data extracts and conversionAbility to optimize SQL queries for performance by understanding the data model and using the right tables effectivelySome experience with PythonExperience with Agile scrumAbility to multi-task, work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environmentAbility to influence and sell ideas to colleagues, supervisor and managementAbility and willingness to continue to expand knowledge and experience
