The role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will work with customers across the defence sector in building solutions that deliver insight and contribute to better operational decisions.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for Designing Data Storage and Maintenance solutions which puts the Data at the heart of our organisation, this will include owning and interacting with Data Warehouse and Data Lake solutions.
Develop a set of Key processes to support the maintenance delivery of Data Solutions Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality Define the architecture needed to support a wide range of Data Solutions Design and Implementation of Data Flows for the Analytics and Visualisations teams including the provision of data for BI Solutions Produce the ETL scripts to ensure the ETL process is optimal for the transformation of Data
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Senior Data Engineer
A history of defining and working on Data Warehousing Solutions using Kimball methodology
In-depth knowledge of database architecture
Implementation of Extraction, Transformation and Load (ETL) flows
Good knowledge of Microsoft SSIS, Oracle Data Integrator or similar tools
Track record of delivering solutions within Database Systems (SQL & NOSQL)
Qualifications for the Senior Data Engineer
A degree or similar in an IT related subject

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
