Our team Unified Security Intelligence collects, creates and curates actionable threat intelligence that powers Microsoft Security products. We are seeking a talented Senior Data & Applied Scientist to join our team where you will have the oppurtunity to apply cutting-edge machine learning algorithms and LLMs to petabytes of data and extract actionable insights for customers. You will be driving projects from conception to production working along with other Data Scientists on the team, consistently delivering value to customers.

**Responsibilities**
+ Explore and analyze data to supply meaningful insights on a wide range of internet collections.
+ Design, Prototype and Implement models; work with the Data Engineering team to deliver models to production.
+ Partner with teams to identify and explore opportunities for the application of machine learning and LLMs.
+ Influence across disciplines and teams to ensure we are making data-driven decisions and solving critical problems for our customers.
+ Communicate with technical and non-technical audiences and contribute as a team player.
+ Mentor others and stay current with advances in the industry. · Focus on customer/partner needs through a data driven approach.

**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related experience (e.g., statistics predictive analytics, research)
+ OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
+ OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
+ OR equivalent experience
+ Demonstrated research or applied science experience in Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Multimodal analysis, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, or a related field.
+ Experience working on projects utilizing LLM's/SLM's and Prompt Engineering.
**Other Requirements:**
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ **Microsoft Cloud Background Check** : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Applied Sciences IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
