**Position Description**
Nightwing Cyber Offense and Defense Experts (CODEX) is seeking a cyber engineer to join our team to solve modern cyber challenges while developing custom Computer Network Operations (CNO) tools and innovative techniques. The majority of work is developed in Python, C, C++, and Assembly on embedded, Windows, and POSIX systems targeting low-level user space or kernel space execution.
The developer diagnoses issues and debugs customer problems using industry standard tools as well as custom toolsets. In addition, the candidate is responsible for end-to-end design, development, and standard developer testing of the developed software. The software developer also writes documentation pertinent to operating and supporting the developed software and techniques. Daily activities include software development, toolchain/helper tool development, and use of debuggers, disassemblers, and other diagnostic software.
Other activities include attending design meetings, mentoring junior developers, and performing code reviews. CNO software developers interface with other developers as well as customer personnel to solve problems and communicate requirements, status, and other information. They also mentor and lead junior-level developers to accomplish mission objectives and solve real-time engineering challenges.

**Technical Requirements**
+ 3 or more years of experience with Windows, OS X, Linux system APIs (POSIX, win32, win native api), embedded, or network devices
+ 3 or more years of experience in C programming
+ Python programming experience
+ Multi-threaded programming
+ Socket programming
+ Strong assembly knowledge (including at least x86 and x86_64)
+ Expert debugging experience
+ Strong familiarity with low-level systems programming
+ Source code control tools (git, Atlassian, or similar) and their usage
+ Expert understanding of how vulnerabilities in Linux, Unix, OS X, and web applications function
+ Software design and architecture
**Desired Experience**
+ Some kernel programming knowledge
+ Experience using disassemblers such as Ghidra or IDA Pro
+ Strong familiarity with software security technologies such as ASLR and DEP
+ Experience with additional architectures (ARM, etc.)
**Required Education**
Bachelor’s degree (STEM preferred) and typically 5 years of prior related experience or an advanced degree with 3 years of experience.
