CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Cx Engineer to join our Power & Manufacturing – Generation & Energy Management Team at our office in Parsippany, NJ; Boston, MA; or Colonie, NY.

Our approach includes critical systems that are maintainable and operable with redundant, fail-safe backups. Our expertise encompasses gas turbines, steam turbines, reciprocating engines, gas plants, biomass plants, coal-fired boiler plants, chiller plants, high-voltage substation, and more. From the early stages of master planning and permitting through comprehensive detailed design, we partner with our clients to create solutions that provide reliable, sustainable energy.
The Senior Cx Engineer, a key role at CHA, leads the technical execution of projects within his/her discipline and provides expert consultation in one or more areas of the respective field of engineering. At CHA, our Senior Cx Engineer plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff. This key role provides guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior level staff. The Senior Cx Engineer provides technical development of proposals and external presentations (i.e., clients, public, regulatory agency, etc.)
The Senior Cx Engineer resolves highly complex technical issues, and continuously monitors the progress and performance on a project to ensure efficient production and uncover potential problems. The professional in this role recognizes technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections following standard procedures and recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of design.

REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field requiredProfessional Engineer License (PE) requiredMinimum of 10 years of engineering experience relating to commissioning and building systems is requiredMust have experience leading commissioning projects and being the main point of contact for the commissioning teamMust have a strong practical and theoretical knowledge in MEP building systems, including water- side (chilled water, hot water, etc) and air-side systems and equipmentMust have significant experience with testing the equipment described aboveMust be able to understand construction documents and specifications, and fully understand the design and intended operation of the associated mechanical systemsExperience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) is requiredGeneral knowledge of, and the ability to commission, lighting and power systems is preferred but not requiredExperience with life safety, plumbing, LEED, and envelope commissioning preferred but not requiredExpert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline(s) with a proven ability to practically apply best practicesAdvanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)Understands QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineeringAbility to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment; proven ability to lead a teamEffective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences and communicate complex conceptsExcellent time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects and meeting deadlinesProficiency with MS Office software requiredActive role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred Willing to occasionally work extra hours to meet client’s demands and project schedules.Position will occasionally require travel to other states in the northeast, but most work is local. SALARY RANGE:$105,000 - $126,000
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
