Serves as a lead for Customer Service Cashiers. Responsibilities: + Serves as a lead for Customer Service Cashiers by assisting the supervisor with work assignments, monitoring workflow, providing training on policies and procedures, and coordinating break schedules. + Handles complex customer accounts and resolves escalated complaints. + Processes customer payments, issues change and supports with the online permitting system. + Balances daily collections and reconciles all cash and checks to summary reports. + Provides information to the public, conducting initial research to resolve customer concerns. + Generates, retrieves, and distributes various reports from the online cashiering system, including cashier balance summaries, deposit summaries, bank deposits, itemized tenders, journal searches, and reconciliation totals. WORKING CONDITIONS Position is physically comfortable. The office environment is physically comfortable and has no major sources of discomfort The individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are occasional periods of stooping, bending, and be able to lift 40 pounds. This is a Department of Houston Public Works Emergency Management position at the Tier III Level. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or a GED. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Two years of money handling experience are required.
