Senior Curriculum Designer

Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development: Design, develop, and revise QCTO-accredited curricula in line with occupational standards, including occupational profiles, learner guides, facilitator guides, and assessment instruments. Integrate digital and blended learning strategies into curriculum design. Develop non-accredited training programmes and short courses to meet client-specific needs. Accreditation Management: Drive QCTO accreditation processes for new qualifications and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Collaborate with external consultants, such as SETA/QCTO advisors, where necessary to expedite accreditation. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), instructional designers, and other stakeholders to ensure the quality and relevance of learning materials. Work with the sales and product teams to align curriculum with market demand and business strategy. Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of curricula, conducting updates as needed based on learner and client feedback. Stay updated on QCTO policies, emerging industry trends, and innovative instructional methodologies. Team Collaboration: Provide mentorship and training to junior curriculum designers and facilitators on curriculum standards and best practices. Participate in cross-functional projects that enhance learning delivery and learner outcomes. Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). Experience: 8+ years of experience in curriculum design and instructional development. Extensive experience with QCTO-accredited programme development and submission processes. Proven track record in developing competency-based training programmes. Technical Skills: Proficiency in digital tools such as Moodle, Articulate Storyline, or similar eLearning platforms. Familiarity with blended learning models and instructional technology. Strong understanding of South Africa’s educational landscape, particularly QCTO and SETA frameworks. Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure curriculum alignment with industry demands. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
