Senior CRA Compliance Officer - US CRA

We are looking for a Senior CRA Compliance Officer to join our Compliance Team in New York, NY. This person will assist in developing and supporting the Bank's strategies and be responsible for its successful implementation. The Senior CRA Compliance Officer will report to the CRA Compliance Officer / CRA Program Manager.
In this position, you will:
+ Provide support in identifying HMDA and CRA risks in collaboration with the Regulatory Risk Assessment Unit;
+ Monitor the Bank's CRA performance (HMDA and CRA Small Business / Small Farms data and for adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and guidance in accordance with the Bank's CRA strategy and goals;
+ Track, monitor and analyze the bank's CRA performance, including lending, investment, and service activities, to ensure compliance with CRA regulations;
+ Support the establishment of SMART business goals for HMDA and CRA to address LMI lending opportunities;
+ Quarterly assess the HMDA and CRA Small Business/Small Farms data, and Community Development Activities with respect to demographic data on median income levels, distribution of household income, and other relevant data in the bank’s assessment areas, using the Wiz SaaS tool to create Performance Reports and aid in the timely and accurate submission of the HMDA LAR and CRA LR;
+ Support a comprehensive and enterprise wide CRA Program by engaging stakeholders in the Bank and within the community.
+ Monitor state and federal laws and regulations affecting CRA and fair lending compliance and help implement any changes. Keep senior management abreast of all changes;
+ Assist to ensure that applicable policy and procedures are timely updated to reflect current practices;
+ Assist to complete annual CRA self-assessment;
+ Serve as a resource to business units, internal team members and management providing a range of support, guidance, and analysis on regulatory compliance requirements, issues, and/or best practices relative to CRA and fair lending;
+ Assist in managing the federal and state CRA examinations and/or related regulatory examinations, audits, or reviews;
+ Provide support to management in the execution of the compliance training program, including drafting training materials, and conducting training as needed;
+ Support the Bank’s CRA Program, including monitoring of the Bank’s CRA performance in accordance with the Bank’s CRA strategy;
+ Help maintain current CRA public file and ensure public disclosure requirements are met;
+ Establish, monitor, and maintain relationships with community based charitable and non-profit organizations, representing Popular Bank and its commitment to the communities that it serves, including but not limited to board service as needed;
+ Work with lending, credit and senior business managers and community organizations to identify opportunities and service the needs of low-moderate income households; and
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
To be considered, you will need:
+ Bachelor’s degree required. CRCM designation preferred.
+ Superior knowledge of compliance laws and regulations including CRA, HMDA, fair lending, UDAAP and other applicable consumer compliance regulations.
+ 5-7 years of experience with CRA Wiz, including use for submission, reporting and mapping functionalities, and analytics.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel including the use of formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a part of a team, maintain positive working relationships with colleagues across departments while also taking direction and reporting to management.
+ Prior experience working with regulatory agencies, including FRB, OCC, FDIC or CFPB.
+ Strong written and verbal communication, research, and presentation skills including a demonstrated ability to clearly provide written reports that identify and quantify risk as well as present sound solutions considering Popular’s operations and culture. Strong organizational, time management and project management skills, including prioritization and attention to detail and working with deadlines.
+ Travel may be required.
Base Salary & Benefits
Our base salary for this position located inNew York Citygenerally ranges between $130,000.00and$150,000.00 annually, depending on business need and on your qualifications and experience. Base salary does not include incentive compensation, commission, or any other type of remuneration or benefits.
In addition to salary, Popular's well-rounded benefits package for regular full-time and part-time employees includes a comprehensive health plan, flexible time off options, and savings and investment plans. Seasonal/temporary employees are not eligible for these benefits.
