Senior Counsel Contracts

This position is based in Cluj - Napoca, Romania, or alternatively in Budapest, Hungary and requires regular on-site presence. (#LI-Onsite)

Provide sales-related Contract Services to Europe WA (UK, Ireland and Benelux), without supervision.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Reviews, drafts and negotiates agreements and transaction documents in compliance with applicable policies and legal and ethical standards, without supervision, including in:   Responding, within established guidelines, to customers’ RFP/RFQs, vendor qualification documents and contractual requests;   Drafting and negotiating with customers, appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of the parties;  Takes the Contracts Lead role on  Complex international and multi-BU project contracts;  Complex frame agreements (multi-BU & -WA);  Acts as Global, World Area or BU Contracts Lead for Global Strategic Accounts;  Interfaces with customers, members of the legal team and other Emerson stakeholders to bring deals to closure;  Analyses business, financial, and legal risks;  Researches information on existing agreements and contractual programs, assisting with analysis and compiling data for reports;  Provides contract-related guidance to Sales, Project Management and other stakeholders;  Participates in the approval process to assist business owners in making informed decisions and secure appropriate approvals;  Develops and communicates creative solutions and mitigation strategies to key negotiation points;  Assists in the mentoring and training of Contracts Trainees and Contracts Negotiators.

For This Role, You Will Need:

5+ years of work experience in a contracts-related role  Bachelor’s Degree in related field  Completion of IACCM Advanced Contract and Commercial Management (CCM) Practitioner and IACCM “Oil & Gas Contracting in Practice” strongly preferred  Intermediate MS Office skills Excellent negotiation skills  Extensive knowledge of Contract law & principles  Commercial provisions such as warranty, liquidated damages/penalties, payment and freight terms, documentary credits and bank guarantees/sureties  Excellent oral and written English and local language skills

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Experience in a complex Matrix organization  Additional language skills, especially German or Czech
