They are seeking a Senior Corporate Law Clerk to support their corporate team and provide expert assistance in a variety of corporate matters. This role offers flexibility with a hybrid work model, allowing you to balance both in-office and remote work.
About the Role:
As a Senior Corporate Law Clerk, you will be responsible for supporting three lawyers, including partners, and will work alongside two other clerks and two administrative assistants. The firm values a friendly and laid-back atmosphere, as long as deadlines and tasks are met. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong background in corporate law to join a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently draft a variety of corporate documents, including articles of incorporation and amendments, articles of amalgamation, tax-driven reorganizations, dissolutions, minute book reviews and rectifications, share and asset purchase agreements, and related correspondenceEvaluate client files, review facts, determine appropriate processes, and plan the necessary steps to ensure deadlines are metAct as the primary liaison with clients for corporate matters related to their filesProvide guidance and support to junior associates, law clerks, and students within the Corporate DepartmentCollaborate effectively within a team environment, employing good communication and social skillsEnsure the accuracy and completeness of legal documents and handle multiple priorities while meeting deadlinesContribute to the firm’s growth by mentoring and training team members, enhancing overall department efficiencyQualifications:A minimum of 10 years of legal experience as a Law Clerk/Paralegal in OntarioExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage client relationships professionally and courteouslyStrong aptitude for coaching and mentoring junior staffExperience providing guidance to legal professionals, law clerks, and administrative assistantsIn-depth knowledge of current relevant legislation and government regulationsStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and adjust priorities when neededExperience with Athennian or similar corporate databases (such as EnAct, GlobalAct, or ALF) is an assetCompensation & Benefits:Competitive salary range: $80,000 - $85,0003 weeks of vacation100% health benefits coverage, including dental and drug coverage$500 wellness subsidy per yearRRSP match starting in the 4th month (2%), increasing to a firm match after 2 years of service
