We are looking for a creative and pragmatic problem solver to serve on our world-class Commercial Legal team, reporting to Director of Legal, Regional Legal Lead for Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ). This is an in-person role based in our Singapore office.
What you’ll do:
Work closely and partner with Sales teams across China and Southeast Asia (and other parts of APJ, as overflow support) on SaaS and other transactions that drive company revenue
Structure, negotiate, and close complex sales and partner transactional agreements
Provide sound advice and guidance on legal and business-related issues to senior business leaders
Manage risk and ensure business and compliance needs are accurately reflected in agreements
Work well in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
Respond promptly to the demands of an active technology sales team and their management
Develop and deliver training on legal issues and contract processes
Support continuous improvements of forms, policies and processes to help streamline, simplify and automate our contracting processes
Keep abreast of the rapidly evolving legal landscape affecting our expanding portfolio of service features in China and across APJ
A successful candidate will be able to forge strong relationships with Snowflake customers, as well internal clients and cross-functional groups within Snowflake, including sales, professional services, alliances and finance. The right candidate will be flexible, fun, hard-working and have the desire to be impactful, as a key driver to Snowflake’s continued growth and success.
What we’re looking for:
At least 8 years of relevant commercial legal experience in APJ, preferably in-house with a successful, high-growth enterprise SaaS company
Legal degree from a reputable university and admitted to legal practice in a relevant APJ jurisdiction
Outstanding analytical, drafting, negotiation, collaboration, written and communication skills
Strong background with SaaS-centric issues (e.g., revenue recognition, tax, security, data privacy, intellectual property), professional services and various go-to-market programs
Exceptional and pragmatic organizational, project management, problem-solving and prioritization skills
Flexibility and eagerness to work hard in fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines (especially at quarter end).
The ability to think and execute both strategically and tactically
Highly effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a wide variety of people at all levels inside and outside the organization, frequently in other time zones, including the US
Service-oriented, responsive, professional and strong integrity
Experience working with highly regulated cloud customers (e.g., FinServ, healthcare, public sector, etc.) and/or a working knowledge of emerging developments in the legal landscape for artificial intelligence, are a plus.
Strong understanding of legal landscape in China, particularly regarding data privacy and security
Business level Mandarin language skills are a requirement, other language skills relevant to APJ a plus
