Senior Corporate Accounting Analyst
**General Requirements:** The Senior Corporate Accounting Analyst is responsible for monthly entries and reconciliations, allocation of costs, monthly accounting close, variance reporting, financial reporting, maintaining internal controls and procedures, as well as assisting with the department’s accounting tasks, and other duties as required. **Job Duties & Responsibilities:** **Job duties include:** + Primary and/or backup for department’s other accounting tasks, this may include journal entries, reconciliations, commissions, tax, treasury functions, intercompany entries. + Assist with annual financial audit, including compilation of supporting schedules and organizing audit items. + Financial reporting, monthly & year end, internally and externally + Other reporting, as requested. + To support in other areas (where and if necessary) to ensure that Accounting & Reporting can report accurate numbers within set deadlines by working proactively and cooperatively with other team members and/or departments. + Analyze and prepare monthly journal entries for all payroll accounting functions. This includes reclass entries, accruals/deferrals, GL mapping, and other adjusting entries, including benefits. + Benefit accounting includes liaising with other departments on outstanding items, reviewing payments, and other tasks related to the accounts. + Analyze and prepare monthly payroll & benefit reconciliations, this includes bonus, accruals, tax, other. + Payroll & payroll tax reporting: internal reporting for audits / year end reports / ad hoc, and external reporting for government, workers compensation, audits. + Improve and develop standard operating procedures for the accounting department with a focus on best practices and internal controls. + Compliance liaison for monitoring procedures and documentation. + Prepare variance analysis of balance sheet and income statement for assigned accounts/divisions. + Active involvement in accounting for new initiatives and ad hoc projects. + Additional duties, as assigned. **Skills & Qualifications:** **Minimum Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or 2+ years' experience working within a corporate accounting team. + Strong knowledge of General Ledger & account reconciliations. + Experience in the Construction industry preferred. + Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and willingness to learn new software. + Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service. + Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy with high volume data. + Thrives in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. + Experience with improving processes to ensure the team is working efficiently. + Adaptable and a willingness to learn new tasks and skills. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Masters Education in accounting or finance or CPA candidate stream + 3+ Years experience in an Auditing Firm or with Auditing + 5+ Years with Accounting ERP systems, Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, vlookups, summit formulas, and Macros) + 3+ Years experience working with heavy-volume workloads with deadlines + 3+ Years experience with accruals, revenue recognition, fixed assets and prepaids + 3+ Years experience as a corporate accounting analyst **Essential Functions:** + Be able to lift and carry files, personal computers, material, etc. + Be able to spend significant time sitting. + Be able to spend a significant time in front of a personal computer screen for periods of time. + Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of all company materials. **Additional Information:** **Equal Employment Opportunity Statement** This company considers candidates regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
